Big Money by Jack Getze is the second book in the “Austin Carr” mystery series. Publisher: Down & Out Books, December 2013
THREE WOMEN ARE MAD ENOUGH TO KILL HIM … Left in charge of a third-rate Jersey Shore investment firm, suspended stockbroker Austin Carr becomes the prize in a war between two crime crews, a powerful state investigator and Mama Bones Bonacelli, his boss’s wacky mother. Barely staying alive with mobsters, beautiful cops, and a hitman he calls The Creeper chasing him, Carr stumbles into the secret world of a beautiful but desperate woman — a murderer who chooses Austin as her next victim.
This was a fun read. The author does a great job in pulling me into this very enjoyable drama with his use of dialogue and descriptive scenery that had me laughing-out-loud at the situations that befalls our protagonist. The action-filled mystery kept me entertained from beginning to end with colorful characters that added to the telling of this engaging story. I can’t wait to see what happens next in the world of Austin Carr.
