Mrs. Odboddy’s Amazing Adventures
My name is Agnes Agatha Odboddy. I live with my Siamese cat, Ling-Ling, and my granddaughter, Katherine. She lost her fiancé last year at Pearl Harbor. Katherine works at the Curls to Dye For Beauty Salon, and does the hair and make-up for the dearly departed at the Whistlemeyer Mortuary. Last year there was quite a to-do when I spotted a Japanese air balloon bomb at the ocean watchtower. These days, every citizen is a home front warrior and must be alert to enemy conspiracies and spies. Mrs. Odboddy Hometown Patriot http://tinyurl.com/hdbvzsv
Mrs. Odboddy Undercover Courier Thanks to the way I handled the balloon-bomb affair, Colonel Farthingworth asked me to carry a package to President Roosevelt, since Katherine and I were headed to Washington to join Mrs. Roosevelt on her Pacific Island tour. Naturally, I assumed the package contained secret war documents too sensitive to travel through the mail. What better way to get them delivered than in the hands of an eccentric old gal like me? As an experienced, though elderly, WWI undercover agent, I was able to thwart every attempt to steal the package. http://tinyurl.com/jn5bzwb
Mrs. Odboddy And Then There Was a Tiger After my successful trip to Washington, I went to a county fair where we met a tame, trained, tiger. I was asked to bank the war bond money from county fair sales. My good intentions went astray and the money was mistakenly sent with a clothing donation to a Good Will store. I had to retrieve the money, but, of course, ran afoul of miscreants. Sadly, further events resulted in the tiger becoming homeless. Of course, I took on the responsibility of finding a permanent home for the creature. What God-fearing person wouldn’t? https://tinyurl.com/yx72fcpx
Mrs. Odboddy’s Desperate Doings I was looking for a permanent home for the hapless beast, but with war-time rationing, and most marketable meat going to the troops overseas, zoos would not accept another tiger. They were euthanizing most of their meat-eating animals and/or shutting down entirely! I fell from a tree and sustained a head injury, but when I reported seeing the local doctor stealing from the neighborhood, folks thought I was hallucinating and no one believed me. Thus began an exciting adventure to save a tiger and catch a thief. https://tinyurl.com/5xah4cnt
Mrs. Odboddy and the Conniving Candidate What civic minded hometown patriot would ignore an election with a city council seat available? I tossed my bonnet into the race, but had no concept of the depth of evil my conniving opponent would attempt to thwart my efforts to win the election. From home disasters, to one after another blow to my reputation and family, I began to wonder if it was worth it. But, could I let this scoundrel force me out of the race? Not on your tintype! Not as long as there’s henna in the shampoo jar and breath in this old body. I Hope you’ll join me on this, or another of my exciting and humorous mystery/adventures. https://tinyurl.com/48c77skh

As the war continues to rage in Europe, Election Day approaches in Newbury. Mrs. Odboddy decides to run for the vacant city council seat, but she has no idea what political obstacles she will face. The trouble starts, first with disasters in her home, to violence and racism against her friends, and then theft charges are filed against her!
To make matters worse, her granddaughter’s old boyfriend has returned to town declaring his unwanted, undying love. His heroic responses to multiple adverse events affecting the family make it difficult for Katherine to send him packing.
Agnes suspects her political opponent is behind all the trouble, including the state’s attempts to remove their beloved ward, Mattie. It seems that Agnes is up against a conniving opponent who will stop at nothing to prevent her winning the election. How can she prevail against such sinister deeds? Agreed. All Mrs. Odboddy novels are great. Hard to decide which one is best.
