Everyone told me Anthony Juliano was the wrong man to date. I was determined to prove them wrong; it’s not the first time an idea’s backfired, but it’s certainly the worst. I knew he had a few secrets, but I never guessed being the mob boss of Buffalo, NY was one of them. Running in terror when I found out was probably not the best escape plan, and it only proved to infuriate him.

Here’s my problem: he owns the cops, he owns the streets, and he put a bounty on my red-head. But he doesn’t know my temper’s flared too, I’m going to take him down. I’m pretty sure my plan will work. I’d blown up my car this morning, and it had gone well, sort of. Then I’d met a kid named Cooney, who’d probably saved my rear on the streets. He says mine is a hopeless case, unless I can convince Juliano’s right-hand man Joe to protect me.

That’s me. Deeply considering the plan of a 12-year-old street kid to force a mobster to protect me from his boss. Sure wish another option would present itself. It doesn’t help that Joe looks like an Abercrombie and Fitch model, or that I land with a splat at his feet.

Did I mention Juliano also runs a dog fighting ring? When I escaped the kennel, he had me locked in; I saved an injured bulldog. He’s the reason I’d skied through the mud straight up to Joe, but he’s also another reason I can’t back down. I’ve got to save the dogs.
