(Sing to Dolly Parton’s 9 to 5)

Tumble outta bed and I stumble to the kitchen
My hair is a mess but I’ve plenty of ambition
Yawn and stretch and try to come to life
Jump in the shower and the blood starts pumpin’
Rush to my shop where ghosts are jumpin’
Waiting for my help with their unfinished business
Sometimes all they need is to find a little forgiveness.

I’m a medium, what a way to make a livin’
Helping new ghosts talk to their family that’s livin’
Some folks think I’m nuts and they wouldn’t be wrong
That’s why I’m singing this crazy song!

Yes, that’s pretty much my life from Monday through Saturday. Hello everyone. My name is Becky Tibbs and I’m a medium. I see and talk to dead people.

Death can be sudden and many times words are left unsaid and plans aren’t carried out. Sometimes, a mystery surrounding their deaths must be solved. The recently departed can’t move on or cross over to a better place without completing their unfinished business.

That’s where I come in – I help ghosts and their loved ones.

Due to ghost radar, often ghosts find me at my antique store in the River Arts District of Asheville, North Carolina. Ghosts can’t make phone calls or leave a note. They need my physical help to talk to their loved ones. They hope to get a message to those they have left behind.

Imagine for a moment that your family member died suddenly. They have a message that feels extremely important to them and they can’t think about anything else. They present themselves to you, but you aren’t a medium. You can’t see or hear them. Your ghost relative grows frustrated as they stand in front of you, because they believe you ignore them. They beg you to listen but you don’t seem concerned at all. After a while, they might get angry.

At that point, you notice flickering lights, chilled air, and static on your radio, computer, or television. Now, you are frightened. You want this erratic behavior to stop. Through the grapevine, you hear about me and pay me a visit. I’m here to help.

Although it’s difficult to call a stranger out of the blue, these messages must be honored. Imagine that I phoned you to say, “Hi, you don’t know me, but your sister wants you to know that she left her diamond tennis bracelet in her locker at the club. She wants you to have it.”

How would you react?

I’m off to work, but please think about that today.

You can read more about Becky in any one of the five books (Birthday Surprise, Thanksgiving Table, Christmas Gift, Valentine’s Day Delight, or Easter Epiphany) in the “Becky Tibbs: A North Carolina Medium’s” Mystery Series.

Becky Tibbs is a sweet girl, maybe a little too sweet, but it’s difficult to fault her for an innocent nature. Some might consider her naïve. And she is. She’s had little knowledge of a larger world others might live outside North Carolina. On the other hand, she’s had a lot of experience dealing with ghost problems.

Becky didn’t ask for the job of medium, but after her parents died, the unusual ability became a bequest – a gift handed down from her mother’s side of the family. An optimistic and positive young woman, Becky determines to make the best of a difficult situation in a small town where the smallest detail is noticed and everyone knows everything about everyone else.

Living in Asheville, North Carolina, Becky deals with a lot of departed spirits in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Such a job can get rather hectic at times. Misunderstood ghosts can create a lot of sticky problems for the living and a community such as hers.

Becky has the gift the same as her brother and sister. The only difference is that her siblings don’t want anything to do with their paranormal abilities and they’ll do anything in their power to drown out those disembodied souls who plead for help.

Used to dealing with ghosts on a daily basis, Becky is not easily surprised. However, on her 26th birthday, Becky gets the biggest shock she’s had in the past ten years and it’s a doozy.

Join Becky as she solves many mysteries in this light, clean, airy, and informative series.
