Without A DoubtMy name is Carol Childs, I’m a single mom and a reporter for a local talk radio station in Los Angeles, and I’ve got a problem. A week ago I was broadcasting a chocolatier’s tour on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills when there was a jewelry store robbery down the street. Suddenly, I was in the middle of one of biggest stories I’ve ever covered when I realized I had just spotted my boyfriend, Eric Langdon, an FBI agent, coming out the jewelry store moments earlier with a Hollywood socialite on his arm. And if that was bad enough, this investigation has now turned into a homicide and the station’s owner’s wife is in town and wants my job.

Allow me to introduce Bunny Morganstern.

Hi, my name is Bunny Morganstern. I’m a fifty-five-year-old woman who doesn’t get the respect she deserves. Which is unfair considering my husband and I own the radio station where Carol Childs works. In my heyday, I worked too. All I ever needed to do was walk into a room and heads would turn. Men’s heads that is, and with it, doors would open and opportunity would be there for the asking. That’s how it is when you’re young and beautiful.

But I’m a little tired of always playing second fiddle to my husband these days. I want back in the game, and I see no reason why I shouldn’t. Carol thinks she can cover a murder investigation her FBI boyfriend is all over. Anyone in news knows she can’t do that. Talk about conflict of interest. Believe me, Carol has no idea about how to play hardball. Not with me. But she’s about to learn. I’ve no problem calling her on her own shortcomings.

Last night I snuck into her computer to steal her notes on the case. And earlier this morning, I started my own investigation, sneaking onto the ranch. I know I can find the murder weapon, that is if I don’t die trying. Horses frighten me and I nearly did myself in, sliding down the muddy embankment, my boots marks are still there along with– . Well, I’ll let you find that out. After all, this is a mystery, and Carol shouldn’t be the only one surprised when she comes into the station this morning.

Without A Doubt is the third book in the Carol Childs mystery series, published by Henery Press, May 2016.

As radio reporter Carol Childs investigates a series of Beverly Hills jewelry heists, she realizes her FBI boyfriend, Eric, is working the same case. Even worse, she may have inadvertently helped the suspect escape. The situation intensifies when the suspect calls the radio station during a live broadcast, baiting Carol deeper into the investigation.

In order for her to uncover the truth, Carol must choose between her job and her personal relationships. What started out as coincidence between Carol and Eric becomes a race for the facts—pitting them against one another—before the thieves can pull off a daring escape, leaving a trail of dead bodies behind, and taking the jewels with them.
