Hi! My name is Cassie Bridgestone and I live in the cozy village of Banford, where townsfolk are family, tea is hot, and lately – murder is inevitable!
I own the Olde Crow Primitives country décor shop in the big stone building on the corner of First and Main. Actually, I own the whole building. My apartment is on the second floor. I love looking out the window to see the boaters make their way through the swing bridge and the locks in the summer.
I rent out the other apartments in the building – some to long-term tenants, and some on a weekly basis to vacationers. We get lots of tourists in our riverside Canadian village. We’re known for our quaint shops and festivals.
The Chocolate Shoppe is another store in my building and my newest tenant is Daniel, who just opened The Book Nook. Daniel is one of the most handsome men I’ve ever seen, but being around him makes me act silly. I’m always dropping my keys or tripping when I’m around him. I don’t know why. It’s not like I’m interested in him or anything. I’m not ready for another relationship after my last one went south.
Anyway, I spend most of my days running my shop, having tea with my great friends, spending time with my Grams, going to church, and curling up with a good book and my very round cat, Pumpkin. She’s my pride and joy. Oh, and birdwatching. I can’t forget that! My friend Anna and I are currently watching over a group of endangered sparrows nesting nearby.
Well, that used to be my normal life. Before the murder. Now I spend most of my time trying to figure out who did it so that I can free my friend from jail. Officer Welby isn’t any help, and despite my years of experience solving television mysteries, I keep putting my foot in my mouth and getting into dangerous situations. Having Daniel around to distract me isn’t helping much, either.
Sigh. I want to go back to the way things were. But I’m afraid, things will never be simple again.

So many things to like about this series! It’s set in Canada, the main character is a person of faith, she owns the building where her shop is located ( slightly different take on the shopkeeper sleuth), and sounds like someone the reader would want to know and want her to succeed.
