Sometimes the best way to know a person is by asking questions, where you can learn more about what makes them tick. Let’s see what Cindy has to say.

What is your name?
– – Cindy York.
How old are you?
– – Early forties. Okay, let’s say “barely” forty.
What is your profession?
– – Real estate agent.
Do you have a significant other?
– – Yes, my husband. We’ve been happily married for 18 years.
What is his name?
– – Greg.
What is his profession?
– – He’s an auto parts distributor.
Any children?
– – Uh, three and three quarters? I’m eight months pregnant.
Do you have any sibling(s)?
– – Unfortunately, no. Greg and I are both only children.
Cats, dogs or other pets?
– – One dog, Rusty, and a cat, Sweetie. The twins might have a lizard or two loose in the house somewhere though. . .
What town do you live in?
– – We live in Upstate New York.
House or building complex?
– – House.
Do you rent or own?
– – Own. . .barely.
What is your favorite spot in your house?
– – The study, where I can sip Starbucks and dream about the million dollar deals that I’m going to make some day.
Who is your best friend?
– – Jacques Forte. He’s also the owner of Forte Realty, where I work.
Amateur sleuth or professional?
– – Oh, definitely amateur, but everyone has been calling me Jessica Fletcher lately. I mean, I’m not that old. . .yet.
Whom do you work with when sleuthing?
– – Jacques
Favorite meal?
– – Anything I don’t have to cook myself.
Favorite dessert?
– – Does a Starbucks mocha latte with whipped cream count?
Favorite hobby?
– – I don’t know about favorite, but I seem to be finding an awful lot of dead bodies lately.

– – We have a kiddie pool in the back yard that I like to sit in during the summer. That’s about as close to a vacation as I’ve had in the last few years.
Favorite color?
– – Purple.
Favorite author?
– – (laughs) Like I have time to read?
Favorite sports team?
– – I live in New York, but I like the Red Sox. Please don’t tell anyone, though. I can’t afford to lose any clients!
Movies or Broadway?
– – Movies, although the last one I saw was Coco, so I’m not sure if that counts?
Are you a morning or a night person?
– – Well, I think almost anyone with kids is pretty much both.
In a few sentences, what is a typical day in your life like?
– – This morning, after I got the kids off to school, I found a quaint old mansion that was “For Sale by Owner” and immediately got the listing. I was so excited about a possible big deal, until my boss told me that the owner just got out of jail for murdering his wife. Then I found a dead body and went into labor. I’m sorry, what was the question again?

Words for Cindy York to live by. The struggling real estate agent, full-time mother, and part-time sleuth has been having a tough winter and is desperate for a juicy commission. When she stumbles across a quaint mansion that’s “For Sale by Owner,” she can hardly believe her luck. Percy Rodgers is anxious to move and immediately hires Cindy as his agent. But when she shares the exciting news with boss and best bud, Jacques Forte, he tells her that Mr. Rodgers neighborhood is a dangerous place to play, since the man just served 20 years for murdering his wife. I love character interviews! The book sounds like a great cozy mystery read. Yes, I have dealt with realtors before and my experiences have been good ones. No dead bodies found on the properties, at least none that I’m aware of!
Yes…my favorite realtors are Emilie and Gale….two beautiful, friendly, honest ladies! I also love these character interviews!
I love these interviews with the characters. They are so much fun to read.
I do have experience working with a real estate agent, and thankfully none of them included a dead body.
We just sold our first home and bought a new house a little over a year ago. Thankfully we had a great real estate agent and did not encounter any dead bodies. I’m looking forward to reading this book. It sounds great!
Last summer we sold our house in MA and it was a fast and easy experience. I was pleasantly surprised. 3 years ago we bought the house we live in now in FL and our agent was amazing and we now have the house of our dreams. That was a great character interview. Thank you so much for this chance at the giveaway.
Great interview and wonderful giveaway. I rarely deal with real estate agents since we stay put.
I have never had an experience with a real estate agent but my niece has recently become one.

As an attorney, I work with real estate agents all the time, but none of them have found a dead body (yet)
I’ve not had any experiences with a real estate agent.
My experience with a real estate agent was all positive. House sold in 3 days for recommended asking price. Christie is marvelous!
I prefer my real estate agents to be in my fiction books. My one and only experience in real life was a nightmare. thank you for the chance to win a print copy!!

First of all, congratulations on your new release. As to real estate agents, we have had a LOT of experience having bought and sold 8 homes over our married life plus renting an apartment via a real estate agent when we first married. All in all, most of the experiences were good except for one. (the artesian well was known to be a problem and the day we moved in, the pump broke and we had to have a whole new system done. It was a known fact that every person knew about the problems prior to that except for us. We did nothing about it but being younger and not wanting to cause waves, we let it go. But today, now in my feisty old age, I would certainly go back to the seller and agent and get some compensation for something that was hushed up about. It has been interesting to buy and sell when transferred or finding a better job and having to move. I am hopefully in my final home now since we retired as moving is just too difficult in your “golden” years I feel.
I would love to become the recipient of a new book. Thank you so much for the chance.
I loved reading all the answers! I would love to win this book!!
My experience with a real estate agent was, unfortunately, not a positive experience.
I have not used a real, estate agent. My husband took care of buying our home and he worked with the agent.
I have dealt with a Real Estate agent last May, 2017, I put my house up for sale in Indiana in the middle of May & it sold by the middle of August. I was so thankful because I don’t drive & I lost my husband to Kidney Cancer & I wanted to move back to Chicago to be close to my Son. This book sounds great, Thanks for your generosity.
I haven’t had any experience working with a real estate agent. I hope when I decide to sell my house that I find a great real estate agency.
We had a fabulous realtor in Bar Harbor, Maine. She helped us find a perfect house in Ellsworth, ME and has remained in our lives as a great friend ever since.
I have had dealing with a real estate agent twice. Once when we sold our house. Got the asking price in two days. And with the same agent got the new house within 3 days. Great lady , really knows her stuff.
Wow! I wish you’d all been my clients when I was selling real estate because I never would have left the business. Good luck with the giveaway!
Thank you, Dru, for hosting Cindy today. She had a wonderful time!
no, I have yet to deal with a real estate agent….
