Book Synopsis
Melanie Bass is slated to be maid of honor at her good friend Lynn Duncan’s wedding to Dermatologist Alex Drover. When Lynn askes her to join her at a pre wedding get to know you brunch at her wealthy future mother-in-law’s house Melanie is curious to see if the woman is the Dragon Lady she has heard about. She soon learns that Mrs. Drover has a razor sharp tongue and that she isn’t thrilled about her son marrying Lynn. The troubled relationship between Mrs. Drover and Lynn becomes (an issue) when Mrs. Drover is found stabbed to death and Lynn becomes the prime suspect. Melanie must help her friend prove her innocence by investigating the multitude of people who also had reason to want Mrs. Drover dead, before she’d found dead herself.

While trying to clear Lynn’s name, Melanie also has to deal with a secretive young woman hired by her home healthcare agency. She questions whether the young woman is giving appropriate care.

Christine Falcone is the author of the Melanie Bass Mystery series. She has also previously published short stories in publications such as Imagine, Lancrom Review, and Deadfall: Crime Stories by New England Writers. She is a member of Sisters in Crime and Mystery Writers of America.

Prior to her retirement she worked for nearly forty years as an RN in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. She lives on the Connecticut Shoreline with her family and her dog Toby who is not nearly as well behaved as Bruno, the well beloved canine in her mystery series.
