I’m excited to reveal the cover for the second book in the “Kate Fox” mystery series, coming October 17, 2017.

Shannon Baker is the author of Stripped Bare, the first in the Kate Fox mystery series (Tor/Forge). Set in the isolated cattle country of the Nebraska Sandhills, Kirkus says, “Baker serves up a ballsy heroine, a colorful backdrop, and a surprising ending.” She also writes the Nora Abbott mystery series (Midnight Ink), featuring Hopi Indian mysticism and environmental issues.       Hi Ida — this is a very rural place, where cattle outnumber people by 50 to 1. I lived there for 20 years. Now I live in Tucson, because, no snow.

        Looks like it will inch toward 70 today. I’ve got a run planned, then editing Kate Fox book 3, tentatively titled, Bitter Rain. But first, I need to reconstruct my inbox. All my inbox emails disappeared yesterday morning and I have to see if I can retrieve them– out of 56,000 in All Mail.

    I’d enjoy reading Stripped Bare and getting to know Kate Fox, and I think I’d really enjoy the atmosphere and setting in the Nebraska Sandhills (I didn’t know Nebraska had sandhills!), but I have only been to Omaha. Thanks for sharing the cover of your new book with Dru and with us — it’s great to learn about a new series!
