Book Synopsis
Mystery bookstore owner, Samantha Washington’s mother, Grace Hamilton, is planning to marry her fiancé, Harold Robertson, on Christmas Eve. The stress of planning a wedding, preparing for Christmas, and dealing with two unexpected visitors has everyone a bit frazzled. When Harold’s sister-in-law recommends hiring Lydia Lighthouse to plan the wedding, Harold and Grace jump at the idea. When Lydia dies not long after arguing with Harold, Sam has to figure out who murdered Lydia before her mother’s wedding plans become a nightmare.

In her spare time, Sam works on the next book in her historic British mystery series. It’s December 1938 and Lady Daphne Marsh has three weeks to plan a wedding if she is to marry her fiancé, Lord James Browning before he has to leave for Italy on a secret mission. In addition to the wedding, the Marsh family is fostering three Jewish children from the first Kindertransport. When the wedding planner, Philippe Claiborne is found dead not long after arguing with both Lord James Browning and Lady Elizabeth Marsh, the family has to find the killer and get Daphne and James to the altar on time.

V. M. (Valerie) Burns was born and raised in northwestern Indiana. She is the author of the RJ Franklin Mystery Series, the Dog Club Mystery ebook Series, and the Mystery Bookshop Mystery Series. Wed, Read and Dead will be the fourth book in that series. She currently lives in Eastern Tennessee with her two poodles.
