I am excited to share with you the cover for the first book in the NEW “Sarah Blair” mystery series from Kensington, coming December 25, 2018.

Title: One Taste Too Many
Genre: Cozy Mystery
Author Website: debrahgoldstein.com
Book Synopsis
For culinary challenged Sarah Blair, there’s only one thing scarier than cooking from scratch—murder!
Married at eighteen, divorced at twenty eight, Sarah Blair reluctantly swaps her luxury lifestyle for a cramped studio apartment and a law firm receptionist job in the tired hometown she never left. With nothing much to show for the last decade but her feisty Siamese cat, RahRah, and some clumsy domestic skills, she’s the polar opposite of her bubbly twin, Emily—an ambitious chef determined to take her culinary ambitions to the top at a local gourmet restaurant . . .
Sarah knew starting over would be messy. But things fall apart completely when her ex drops dead, seemingly poisoned by Emily’s award-winning rhubarb crisp. Now, with RahRah wanted by the woman who broke up her marriage and Emily wanted by the police for murder, Sarah needs to figure out the right recipe to crack the case before time runs out. Unfortunately, for a gal whose idea of good china is floral paper plates, catching the real killer and living to tell about it could mean facing a fate worse than death—being in the kitchen!

Penney
I’ll let you in on a secret .. I love the cover, too. (and I’m a little partial to the pages in between the front and back covers)
Please remind us in December. Thanks.
will be glad to remind you … I’ll still be happy dancing then
This series sounds quite different and any stories with a culinary theme is to my liking. Congratulations to the author on this upcoming release.
Cynthia – thanks for the congrats! Yes, the culinary recipes are a little different.. they take into mind the cook of convenience who would rather be reading a good mystery.
Great cover. Distinctive cat and good artwork. Hope it does you proud.
Judy… appreciate your comments. Kensington already has done me proud with the cover. I started quelling the minute I saw it up for pre-order and I can’t wait until it is in the stores on December 18.
Thank you for the share! So excited about this series….and its recipes like Jell-O in a Can.
Great cover!
Thank you! I’m thrilled with Kensington’s artwork
Beautiful cover – the story sounds great!
Thank you, Brooke… and congrats on your recent wedding!
I love the cover! And the book sounds terrific! Can’t wait to read it!
June, Thank you for your kind words. Can’t wait to hear what you think when you read One Taste Too Many
Congrats on the new series, Debra–I also love that cover. I also love the concept of the cooking-challenged sleuth. That’s a nice change from all our expert cooks and bakers.
Kaye,
I had no choice — I’m cooking challenged. BTW, there is a spinach pie recipe in One Taste Too Many for the cook of convenience that works like a dream. I’ve been making it for years! Thanks for your kind words.
Absolutely love your writings, Debra and I’ve
preordered One Taste Too Many and I’m so looking forward to reading your new book.
Love keeping up with you.
Take care,
hugs,
Pam
Pam,
Thank you for your generous comments and for pre-ordering One Taste Too Many. Today, pre-orders and sales are important to whether series get off the ground and get to be sustained. I’m excited Kensington thinks highly enough of the Sarah Blair series to have contracted for three books — pre-orders like yours will help when they consider whether to order more in the series because they make those decisions before all three ever hit daylight. Again, my appreciation for your continued support! dhg
Love it! Congratulations!!
Thank you!
Cozy mysteries often have cats on the cover in the background. RahRah is front and center on your cover, Debra, looking intriguing.
RahRah is front and center in my mind — and will be an integral part of the series. Of course, RahRah might find a friend or perhaps not in later books :). Thanks for commenting on the cover, I’m very excited about it.
Congratulations on the new cover! I like it very much. I’m a cat lover and I admit Cozies with cats get my attention. I look forward to reading this book. It’s in my tbr file already.
Also, I noticed a mention of MahJongg in the author bio. I’ve been in a MJ group for a year now. I will mention you to my Cozy Mystery group and my MJ group. Good luck!
Thank you, Dru.
Cheryl
Cheryl,
I’m glad you like the cover. I wanted the cat to be a major focal point, so I was thrilled when I saw what Kensington came up with. Hope you enjoy the book as soon as it is available.
I played Mah jongg this afternoon. Although Should Have Played Poker: a Carrie Martin and the Mah Jongg Players Mystery isn’t only about Mah jongg, it does give a framework for the mystery … but more important is that the four women who help the protagonist “solve” the murder are the retirement home mah jongg players — and we all know what a mah jongg group is like :).
Congratulations! I can hardly wait to read it.
Thank you! Hope you enjoy One Taste Too Many
