I am delighted to share with you the cover for the first book in the NEW “Sugar & Spice” mystery series from Lyrical Underground, coming December 4, 2018.

Title: Game of Scones
Genre: Cozy Mystery
Author Website: maryleeashford.com

Book Synopsis
Rosetta Sugarbaker Calloway (aka Sugar to her friends) has been downsized from her job as editor at a snazzy cooking magazine. The last thing she wants is to return home to Georgia to face her interfering family. So when Dixie Spicer, a blue-ribbon baker she’d done an article on, calls her and wants to discuss going into business together, Sugar jumps at the chance. Dixie’s idea is a community cookbook business, assembling recipes from different communities across the country, who are interested in publishing cookbooks as fundraisers. Thus, the business of Sugar and Spice Cookbooks is born.

What better place to start than Dixie’s own town? All starts out well until a recipe war ensues, where words are thrown and threats are made. It doesn’t take long before the ladies are up to their oven mitts in trouble–in the form of a sexy new stranger, a sheriff who could talk most women outta their pretty little aprons, and a dead body, which turns out to be the matriarch of the town’s first family. Who the hell knew that scones could be so dangerous?
