I’m excited to share with you the cover reveal for the next book in the “Ditie Brown” mystery series, coming September 2022 and now up for preorder.

Book Synopsis
Her wedding is in the works!
Pediatrician Mabel Aphrodite (Ditie) Brown has imagined this day since the first time Detective Mason Garrett kissed her. Her family will now be complete with her newly-adopted children, Lucie and Jason, and her soon-to-be husband, Mason, beside her. They will wed in the place she calls heaven—on the warm sands of Cape Azul bordering the Gulf of Mexico.
Lurleen, her best friend, will see to everything, so what can possibly go wrong?
The wedding happens on a glorious sunny day, but storm clouds arrive soon after. First, the owner of their rental house disappears. Two days later his body washes ashore not far from where they are staying.
Ditie isn’t one to leave a job half-done in her cooking, her care of her patients—or in this case an unsolved murder. But she will never put her children at risk or disappoint her new husband who only wants a quiet honeymoon on the beach.

I really have only been to 1 wedding. My sister got married in 1972. They were married for 47 years. I was 12 when they got married. Her husband died in 2019. The wedding was very nice. My dad walked her down the aisle. It was not a very long ceremony. Her wedding dress was very nice.
Well, here you go. One more to add to your collection of one. A typical wedding followed by a very atypical honeymoon. Enjoy.
My best friend’s wedding saw us rushing from the ceremony to the hospital, so the happy couple could see the groom’s father. Sadly, he died three days later. The reception was canceled at the last minute as was the honeymoon. I was just glad to be there to offer what support I could.
That’s a hard one. Thank goodness you were there.
Sounds like a great read. I dare not write a wedding adventure. I am a clergywoman and I have so many … best left to rest-in-peace!
LOL! I didn’t realize the comments would have me in stitches. I suspect some of those experiences might not be best seen in a cozy mysteries.
Nothing too crazy, but I did attend one where the bride was barefoot. And no, it wasn’t a beach wedding. My mother in law, also in attendance, talked about it forever!
I’ll bet. Looks as if the bride was an independent woman from the start.

When we got married 60 years ago, our wedding vows included LOVE, HONOR and OBEY. I think I stuttered on that last word and had my fingers crossed …
It’s hard to imagine those words coming out of your mouth even with your fingers crossed. They sound more like something Butch should have said. Congratulations on 60 years. That is a real achievement!
I don’t remember any of the weddings I have been to having any adventures but they were all very pretty and moving. Especially my own. Congratulations on the new book!
Thanks. The last real wedding I went to was very moving! So was Ditie’s, of course.
It’s been 40 years since I been to a wedding, I don’t remember any except very short ones.
Great review

Forty years is a long time to go without a wedding. I hope Ditie and Mason can catch you up on them a little.
I attended my nephew’s wedding in Australia. It was wonderful to be with the family.
I guess I didn’t push post, so you may end up with two identical responses. I am curious to know how an Australian wedding might differ from ours in the US.
My husband and I were to spend our wedding night in a brand new hotel at the foot of Canal Street in New Orleans. Ideal! Unfortunately it was overrun with Shriners, most of them well lubed. We weren’t able to park in the hotel’s garage as it was full of Shriner cars, motorcycles, etc. To this day I shudder when I see a Shriner fez!
LOL–although perhaps it wasn’t so funny at the time. It makes for a very good story in any case.
I had a really small wedding. It was at home with only family. We used the money for a down payment on a house. We had a party a couple of months after the wedding.
This is such a practical way to do things! Ditie’s wedding is also small with plans for a bigger party later.
My most memorable wedding was my sisters – it rained. They are still married after 53 years so I guess rain on your wedding day is indeed lucky.
It’s always nice to hear stories of marriages that last so long even after wet beginnings.
We got rained on at our wedding. But really, what were we expecting? Outdoors in May, in Seattle. The pictures were cute, though.
Another wet wedding! I’m impressed you went ahead with an outdoor wedding in Seattle. Seattle folks seem to be waterproof.
I don’t have any wedding adventures to relate except it’s the one time I felt beautiful. everyone should have that feeling at least once. I do enjoy your series. It’s very well written.
I love your comment–it’s wonderful to have a day like that. And I’m delighted you like my series!
Recently attended my niece’s wedding in Ireland–beautiful and a great way to tour the country as well
