Harry Westcott is a sleuth in the “Georgia B&B” mysteries. One of the best ways to learn about a person is by asking questions. So, let’s get to know Harry.

What is your full name?
My birth certificate reads Harold A. Westcott III, but I’m not overly fond of my two predecessors who had that same name. And so, professionally and day-to-day, I stick with Harry Westcott.

How old are you?
I’m thirty-nine years old.

What is your profession?
I am an actor with numerous appearances as an extra in various popular television series, plus I’ve co-starred in the Swamp Werewolf movie trilogy (available for download or on DVD). You’ll be seeing me as both actor and director of the annual Shakespeare on Cymbeline Square’s production of Hamlet. Prior to that, my most recent venture was the starring role in the series John Cover, Undercover, coming soon to an internet channel near you.

Do you have a significant other?
Not at this time. And, sorry ladies, I’m not currently looking.

Do you have any children?
No, and no plans for any (I prefer to nurture my own inner child).

Do you have any siblings?
I have a younger brother, but we don’t speak often.

Are your parents nearby?
You’ll find my sainted mother in Cymbeline’s public cemetery. Unfortunately, my father is still with us. We don’t speak. . .ever.

Who is your best friend?
I will deny it to my dying breath if you ever repeat this, but Nina Fleet is probably the one person who has my back despite how often we clash. And Gemma Tanaka, one of the owners of Peaches and Java, has been a confidante since I was a teenager.

Do you have any pets?
I’m not actually a pet person, but I am rather fond of Nina’s Australian Shepherd, Matilda. I’m not sure if the sentiment is returned.

What town do you live in?
Like many actors, I’m something of a nomad. I’d been living in LA for a while, and also Atlanta, but currently I’ve returned to my hometown of Cymbeline for the immediate future.

Would you say you live in a small town or a big city?
Cymbeline is the former, located a bit west and south of Savannah. But given that we have a significant tourist industry here, it’s not quite as provincial and sleepy as many small towns.

Type of dwelling and do you own or rent?
The three-story Queen Anne home where I currently reside belonged to my Great-Aunt Lathrop. It was supposed to be mine when she died, but let us just say that the executor of the estate had a vested interest in making sure I didn’t get the place. And so Nina ended up purchasing the house at what I consider a bargain price and turned it into a bed and breakfast inn. I’m still negotiating with my attorney to see if we can reverse her purchase. However, Nina has agree to let me stay in the house’s tower room for the duration.

What is your favorite spot in your home?
As my personal space is limited to the tower, I would have to deem that my favorite spot, though I’m fond of the gardens, too.

Favorite meal and dessert?
I am vegetarian and also adventuresome in my eating habits, so I have no favorites. I do have a weakness for ice cream, however.

Do you have any hobbies?
Sorry, too busy for that.

What is your favorite vacation spot?
As I was born in Georgia, I prefer anyplace that’s hot, though I occasionally enjoy Colorado in the summer.

What music do you listen to?
My tastes are eclectic – anything from Classical to Reggae.

Do you have a favorite book?
I am partial to anything by that Shakespeare fellow.

What is your idea of a really fun time?
Being onstage is what brings me to life!

If you were to write a memoir, what would you call it?
*** The Life and Times of an Oscar-Winning Actor *** (this assumes, of course, that I write it toward the end of my career).

Amateur or professional sleuth and whom do you work with?
I’ve played numerous professional sleuths and law enforcement characters on television and in the movies. In real life, I think of myself as a consulting detective in the vein of Sherlock Holmes. Nina Fleet is my Watson.

In a few sentences, what is a typical day in your life like?
It depends on whether I’m working or not. I’m sure you’re familiar with an actor’s unusual schedule. I might get to the set before dawn and work until after midnight. When I am between gigs, I have a couple of side hustles, including a small touring company. In those cases, I set my own hours. I’m a night person but I don’t require much sleep.

To die, or not to die? Georgia B&B proprietor Nina Fleet turns amateur thespian to bring the curtain down on a Shakespearean actor’s killer.

It’s nothing short of inevitable that Cymbeline, GA, hosts an annual Shakespeare festival. But stage-struck Nina Fleet is about to learn that putting on an amateur theatrical production can be murder. Nina’s anticipating showbiz glamour and glitz when a community Shakespearean troupe arrives for a two-week stay at her B&B. But the lights dim when she learns the company’s director is her nemesis, struggling actor Harry Westcott–who still claims to be the rightful heir to Nina’s elegant Queen Anne home.

Meanwhile, the troupe members are not content to leave the drama upon the stage. Accusations of infidelity and financial malfeasance make a shambles of rehearsals. And then, two days into the troupe’s stay, the lead actor is found dead in Nina’s formal Shakespeare garden. Natural causes. . .or murder most foul?

Nina uncovers evidence that something is indeed rotten in the town of Cymbeline. Too bad Harry is the only one who believes that she’s not going completely off script. And exposing the truth isn’t easy when the remaining troupe members say the show must go on. . .particularly when all of them seemingly had a motive for wanting their fellow actor to permanently exit stage right. Determined to keep the killer from making a curtain call, Nina and her trusty Australian Shepherd, Matilda, join forces with Harry to sleuth out the murder plot. Will they succeed before someone else shuffles off this mortal coil? Find out in Anna Gerard’s delightful second Georgia B&B mystery.
