Inked Up by Terri Thayer is the second book in the “Stamping Sisters” cozy mystery series.  Publisher: Berkley (Penguin), August 2009

Back in her hometown of Aldenville, Pennsylvania, April Buchert is creating a new life for herself as a professional rubber stamper and restoration expert.  She’s also joined the Stamping Sisters, a group of craft-loving women who leave their mark on the world of stamping cards–and stamping out murders.

Someone is stalking the citizens of Aldenville

The annual Pumpkin Express weekend is a fall tradition in Aldenville, and the corn maze is one of the main attractions.  Everyone has always made it out alive…until now.  When April and her friend Mitch Winchester meander through the maze, the shortcut they take leads not only to the exit but to a lifeless body.

Worse yet, it’s a woman they both know.  Though local police are quick to blame the husband, April knows he isn’t capable of murder.  Finding her voice, she jumps into the fray with the Stamping Sisters, determined to find the killer before he catches another in his murderous motif.

I enjoyed this story that combines a little bit of murder, mystery, romance and stamping.  It was good to see April’s personal life have its resolution and justice prevail for the victim’s family.  My rating: 3.5 stars
