Here are twelve new books, with two debut series, on my list releasing this week for your reading entertainment.

The Wrong Boy by Cathy Ace ~ Perched on a Welsh clifftop, the ancient, picturesque hamlet of Rhosddraig has its peaceful façade ripped apart when human remains are discovered under a pile of stones. The village pub, The Dragon’s Head, run by three generations of women, becomes the focal point for those interested in the grisly find, and it’s where layers of deceit are peeled away to expose old secrets, and deep wounds.
The Lost Traveller by Sheila Connolly ~ Pub owner Maura Donovan is settling into a charmed life in Ireland―until a mutilated body on her property ends her lucky streak. Boston expat Maura Donovan came to Ireland to honor her grandmother’s last wish, but she never expected to stay in provincial County Cork―much less to inherit a house and a pub, Sullivan’s, in the small village of Leap.
Bones Behind the Wheel by E. J. Copperman ~ Haunted Guesthouse proprietress Alison Kerby and her ghostly guest detective, Paul, “auto” know better than to dig into the case of a long-buried sedan and its now-skeletal driver. A Dead Red Gamble by RP Dahlke ~ Newly minted P.I. duo, Lalla and Pearlie Bains, are thrilled at the prospect of signing well-connected Judge Borrega as a client. But then a stranger persuades her dad’s two foster boys to release a cage of chickens in the county courthouse and the distraction is used to cover a murder.
Dark Streets, Cold Suburbs by Aimee Hix ~ Sometimes home is the most dangerous place of all. In a heart-pounding mystery featuring apprentice PI Willa Pennington, a long-standing cold case turns hot in a hurry. People move to the suburbs for a better life—nice houses, good schools, safe communities. But there’s no place you can go that’s completely safe from danger.
A Dead Market by CeeCee James ~ Stella O’Neil finally has her first listing! A cute cabin with a gorgeous lake on eighty acres of breathtaking land. There’s just one tiny problem: the body floating in the lake. If that weren’t unsettling enough, her phone rings off the hook with hundreds of potential buyers.
A Literal Mess by J.C. Kenney ~ The first book in a new series featuring Allie Cobb brings the New York literary agent back to her Hoosier home town where a mysterious death keeps everyone on spoiler alert. The Widows by Jess Montgomery ~ Kinship, Ohio, 1924: When Lily Ross learns that her husband, Daniel Ross, the town’s widely respected sheriff, is killed while transporting a prisoner, she is devastated and vows to avenge his death. Hours after his funeral, a stranger appears at her door. Marvena Whitcomb, a coal miner’s widow, is unaware that Daniel has died, and begs to speak with him about her missing daughter. *new series*
The Alchemist’s Illusion by Gigi Pandian ~ The latest alchemical adventure from Gigi Pandian, USA Today bestselling author and winner of the Agatha Award. She’s finally got her life on track in Portland, Oregon, gardening and cooking in her fixer-upper house with her mischievous best friend, Dorian the gargoyle chef.
Seven Deadly Zins by Nancy J. Parra ~ Which suspect drowned an inspector in the Zinfandel? Sonoma tour guide Taylor O’Brian uncorks another intoxicating Sonoma Wine Country mystery. Taylor O’Brian, founder of “Off the Beaten Path”, takes small groups on wine country tours of romantic Sonoma County.
The Hangman’s Secret by Laura Joh Rowland ~ Intrepid photographer Sarah Bain and her motley crew of friends are back to hunt criminals in the dark, seedy underbelly of Victorian London, but little do they know, the darkness may lurk closer than they first divined.
