It’s been almost a year since my disastrous wedding where my in-laws tried to keep my marriage from happening, a ghost invaded our lives, and magic came to Renaissance Faire Village and Marketplace.
Don’t get me wrong—I’ve always thought of this place as magical, but now there’s real magic. I’m not sure how it happened. Maybe it has something to do with Wanda’s death which made her a blue ghost with a grudge against everything and everyone. Maybe it was a witch moving into the old Lady of the Lake Tavern.
All I know is that life isn’t the same anymore.
It’s better in that I’m finally living out my dream in the Village as director of the Art and Craft Museum with my husband, Bailiff Chase Manhattan.
I found this great shoemaker who is bringing in the crowds for his exhibit. But what’s the draw? He claims to have elf magic. That’s right. He says his great-great-great grandfather was the shoemaker in the story of the Elves and the Shoemaker.
I can’t argue with his claims. I saw a woman put on a pair of his boots and almost skip herself to a bad fall. She claimed it was the boots. He says sometimes he accidentally puts in too much magic. He says that’s why he confessed to the murder of Princess Isabelle who may have danced off her terrace at the castle in her new slippers.
Maybe he’s right. I can’t be sure. But I know I won’t sleep at night until Chase and I figure out what really happened to Isabelle. We don’t want Renaissance Village to get a bad reputation!

I used to go to the New York Renaissance Faire when I lived on the East Coast. That was fun. It was always enjoyable to see people dress up for that time period.
