River Spirits(Note from Marilyn Meredith: A familiar sounding name you say? Kate Eileen Shannon is an author who entered last year’s contest to have a character named after her in the next Deputy Tempe Crabtree mystery. She won. Now you have a chance to hear from my Kate Eileen Shannon.)

Yes, I admit it, more than once I’ve threatened to kill my boss in front of people. No, I would never do it, but you have no idea how frustrating that woman is! I’m trying to watch myself though, the local Deputy has talked to me about it.

You’ve probably heard of my boss, she’s Delia West, the movie star. I’m her so-called personal assistant, slave would be a better title. She is the meanest, most demanding woman on the planet. She’s the female lead of a low-budget film being made on the Bear Creek Indian Reservation. If you want my honest opinion, her glory days are over.

Why do I keep working for her? For one thing, her driver for this movie that’s being filmed is my boyfriend, Jonas Avery. He’s a dream. When Jonas drives Ms. West to the reservation, I go with them in her car. Jonas and I spend as much time together as possible.

I guess I ought to mention that Delia West isn’t my only problem. The male star, Marcus Twist, makes fun of my curly red hair and freckles, my name, and even worse, he’s a lecherous old man.

The money is good, and so is the romance, so I’m trying very hard to behave myself when Delia West shrieks, “Kate Eileen Shannon!”

Blurb for River Spirits

While filming a movie on the Bear Creek Indian Reservation, the film crew trespasses on sacred ground, threats are made against the female stars, a missing woman is found by the Hairy Man, an actor is murdered and Deputy Tempe Crabtree has no idea who is guilty. Once again, the elusive and legendary Hairy Man plays an important role in this newest Deputy Tempe Crabtree mystery.

You can read more about Kate in River Spirits, the 14th book in the “Deputy Tempe Crabtree” mystery series, published by Mundania Press. The first book in the series is Deadly Trail.

Contest: The winner will be the person who comments on the most blog posts during the tour.

He or she can either have a character in my next book named after them, or choose an earlier book in the Deputy Tempe Crabtree series—either a paper book or e-book.

Tomorrow you can find me visiting M.M.Gornell where I’m discussing my relationship with Tempe. mmgornell.wordpress.com.
