Katie Bonner first appeared in A Crafty Killing and one of the best ways to learn about a person is by asking questions, so let’s get to know Katie.

What is your name?
Katie Bonner.

How old are you?
Thirty-two.

What is your profession?
Entrepreneur. I own and manage Artisans Alley on Victoria Square.

Do you have a significant other?
Andy Rust.

What is his name and profession?
He owns Angelo’s Pizzeria on Victoria Square.

Any children?
No.

Do you have any sibling(s)?
No.

Who is your best friend?
Rose Nash.

Cats, dogs or other pets?
Two cats: Mason and Della.

What town do you live in?

I rent the apartment above Angelo’s Pizzeria (owned by my boyfriend, Andy).

What is your favorite spot in your house?
My couch. It’s where I read or watch TV.

Favorite meal?
Thanksgiving!

Favorite dessert?
That’s a tough one. Cookies, cupcakes. Let’s just say I have a sweet tooth.

Favorite hobby?
Baking.

Favorite vacation spot?
Bed and Breakfasts just about anywhere. It’s such a wonderful experience to visit beautiful old homes and be pampered. (Love a soaker tub, especially since I only have a tiny shower in my tiny apartment.)

Favorite color?
Blue.

Favorite author?
I like to read cozy mysteries! Too many authors to name. (Okay, very fond of Mary Kennedy and Ellery Adams.)

Favorite sports team?
The Buffalo Bills. (We’re very loyal here in Western NY.)

Amateur sleuth.

Whom do you work with when sleuthing?
Recently, I’ve confided in Ray Davenport, a former detective with the County Sheriff’s Office.

In a few sentences, what is a typical day in your life like?
I start work around 8 in the morning at Artisans Alley and am there until after we close at 6 pm, but I’m not tied to my desk. I take power walks around the Square, and then blow it by having lunch at the Square’s tea shop or buying a sandwich at Tanner’s Bakery and Café. It’s also kind of intoxicating to smell the heavenly aroma of chocolate coming from Sweet Sue’s Confectionery. In the evenings, I read or watch TV with my cats, and Andy often joins me for a home cooked dinner, or he’ll bring up a pizza or calzones. It’s a busy life, but I still manage to find time to solve a crime or two.

You can read about Katie in Yule Be Dead, the fifth book in the “Victoria Square” mystery series co-written with Gayle Leeson.

A Christmas crime shocks the merchants of a quaint shopping district in this latest installment of The New York Times bestselling Victoria Square series.

It’s Christmastime, but not everyone is jolly–especially not Vonne Barnett. Her dead body has been found in Victoria Square. Katie Bonner, the manager of Artisan’s Alley, happens to be at the tea shop Vonne’s mother, Francine, owns when the news is delivered.

Vonne left a trail of men behind her so the suspects are many–but the clues are few. A broken teacup leads Katie to one of the suspects, but before she can investigate, she’s attacked. Katie may be closing in on a murderer, but time is ticking because the murderer is definitely closing in on her.
