Kelly Quinn first appeared in Murder Wears a Little Black Dress and one of the best ways to learn about a person is by asking questions, so let’s get to know Kelly.

What is your name?
Kelly Quinn

How old are you?
I’m 26 years old.

What is your profession?
I’m the owner of the Lucky Cove Resale Boutique. Prior to inheriting the boutique after my grandmother passed away, I was an assistant buyer of women’s fashion at Bishop’s Department Store in NYC.

Do you have a significant other?
Maybe. It’s a little too early to say.

What is his name and profession?
Well, I guess I can tell you. But as I said, it’s too early to really say we’re a couple. His name is Mark Lambert and he’s an attorney.

Any children?
No.

Do you have any sibling(s)?
I have a sister, Caroline Quinn.

Do your parents live near you?
No.

Who is your best friend?
Liv Moretti, she works at her family’s bakery.

Cats, dogs or other pets?
I have a cat, Howard. He was my grandmother’s cat, so I inherited him along with her home and business.

What town do you live in?
Lucky Cove, New York

Type of dwelling and do you own or rent?
I live in a house that I inherited from my grandmother. She converted the downstairs into the shop and the upstairs into an apartment where I now live.

What is your favorite spot in your house?
The apartment needs a complete remodel but since my budget is pretty much non-existent those projects will have to wait so it makes it hard to have a favorite spot. With that said, I do have a spot I like to sit at and it’s the dining table. There were so many holiday meals, long talks over cups of tea and downtime playing board games with my granny and family. Yeah, that’s my favorite spot.

Favorite meal and dessert?
Wow. Way too many to list. I really love food. Lately I’m loving my friend Pepper’s apple cinnamon bread.

Favorite hobby?
About a year ago I would have said shopping. I know it’s my job, but I love hunting for a good sale. These days since I have to do a lot of DIY projects for the boutique thanks to my tight budget, I’m spending more time at flea markets and repurposing things into either decorations or displays for the shop.

Favorite color?
Green.

Favorite author?
Agatha Christie. I love a good mystery and hers are amazing.

Favorite vacation spot?
Any place with a beach.

Favorite sports team?
I don’t follow sports. Unless you count Black Friday and Cyber Monday as sports. Which I do.

Movies or Broadway?
Movies and it’s usually Netflix and it’s usually over at Liv’s apartment because she has the subscription.

Are you a morning or a night person?
Probably a night person but since I graduated college and got a job, I’m a morning person. I need to ease myself into the day.

Amateur or professional and whom do you work with?
Totally amateur and I work with my friends Liv and Ariel Barnes.

In a few sentences, what is a typical day in your life like?
Well, today was pretty typical. I got up around six and headed out for a run. On my way back home, I stopped at the local coffee shop for a Holly Jolly seasonal coffee. Yum! Then back home, I showered and dressed and fed Howard. I had a little time to work on my a freelance article for a fashion website. When it was time to open the boutique, I headed downstairs and the day began. Like usual, I worked through lunch because I had packages to mail (I sell some items on a luxury resale website) and then at the end of the day I headed back upstairs to freshen up and change to meet Mark for dinner. Of course, Howard got his dinner before I left. And when after I got home from dinner, I slipped into my snuggly PJs and curled up to watch a few YouTube fashion videos with Howard on the sofa. When there’s not a murder in town, my days are pretty boring.

Silenced in Sequins is the second book in the “Resale Boutique” cozy mystery series, released January 7, 2020.

Former Manhattan fashion buyer Kelly Quinn is turning her grandmother’s outdated consignment shop into her quaint hometown’s hot spot for upscale style—until her second-hand couture makes the scene of an ice-cold crime . . .

With her bottom line looking a little threadbare, Kelly is going all out to promote the Lucky Cove Resale Boutique. She’s counting on Black Friday to recover her start-up expenses—including a website and an advertising blitz. But the publicity is overkill when two warring divas, and one sparkly evening dress, thrust Kelly and her fledgling business into a scandal she can’t afford.

The gorgeous garment came to Kelly from the walk-in closets of Wendy Johnson, one of reality TV’s Long Island Ladies. When Wendy’s former co-star, Diana Delacourte, graces a Christmas gala in the dress that was once her rival’s, a very public catfight ensues. But is Wendy to blame when sequin-clad Diana turns up dead? Dodging the show’s ever-present cameras—and a detective’s stern warnings—Kelly hunts for a killer before the powerful celebrity-suspect makes good on her threats and rips her to shreds . . .
