Hello, everyone. I’m Lexi Carmichael, a twenty-five-year-old geek girl. For those of you who don’t know me, I’m a hacker and a cybersecurity expert. I’m good at my job, despite my continual requirement to prove myself because I don’t have a Y chromosome. I work for a cutting edge cyber intelligence company, which on the surface seems like it’s a safe job, but for some reason, a little black cloud of trouble follows me around. So much so, that my life seems to be in perpetual danger. I’ve even created a spreadsheet to keep track of it all. That’s just how I roll. Numbers make sense to me.

I’ll be honest, I’m not a people person. Most people annoy me. It’s not you—it’s me. Okay, maybe it’s you, but don’t take it personally. I feel that way about most people. Being forced into small talk is an agony I’d rather not endure. Yet somehow, as I muddle along in my career, my path collides with brilliant hacking twins, a sexy government secret agent, a rich, handsome lawyer and lots and lots of bad guys. Hacking, espionage, sexy men—it’s a geek girl’s dream come true…as long as it’s online. When it’s happening in real life, it’s a lot for a girl like me to manage.

Now I’m traveling around the world from Rome to Indonesia to Africa to Egypt and stopping cyber criminals and trying not to look too dorky while I’m doing it. I’ve even got a boyfriend now, and we just moved in together, which is a surprising development for a girl like me. Regardless, I’m making a good faith effort to interact with others outside of my safe virtual cocoon. It’s not an easy path, especially since I’m trying to hold it all together for my best friend’s wedding, at which I’m the maid of honor. Yep, that’s me—bridesmaid of the year. NOT. In fact, it looks like I’m going to need a bigger umbrella to keep that little black cloud of trouble from raining on my parade. . .

You can read more about Lexi in No Regrets, the 10th book in the “Lexi Carmichael” humorous mystery series and was released January 8, 2018 (yesterday – yay!).

Geek girl Lexi Carmichael has tackled her share of formidable tasks, but nothing quite as daunting as serving as maid of honor at her best friend’s wedding. . .

When I agreed to stand by my best friend, Basia, on her big day, I had no idea what I was in for. Bouquets and unflattering evening wear I can handle. But between disgruntled dates, a beach venue and suspicious packages, what else can go wrong? Oh, right—my parents don’t know I’ve moved in with Slash. Oops?

Thankfully, I’ve got everything semi under control, at least as far as Basia and Xavier know. They can leave for their honeymoon happy, knowing Elvis, Slash and I will keep things safe at home.

Meanwhile, Elvis and Xavier’s boss at ComQuest has asked X-Corp—well, me—to take a quick trip to retrieve a sensitive company package from the British Virgin Islands. No hacking involved. Just show up, accept the package and bring it home safely. A cushy assignment, and a safe one. Right?

Wrong. Things start to unravel the minute I set foot on the boat to the island. Before I know it, I’m up to my neck in thugs, sand and trouble. I’m going to have to work fast to stop the bad guys before the sun sets for good on this unexpected beach vacation. . .
