Hello, everyone! It’s Lily Cranston from the Ghost Town Mysteries. I thought it might be fun to give you a peek into a typical day in my life, so you can see what it’s like to juggle managing a ghost town, solving mysteries, and navigating a close-knit community.

My day usually starts before the sun rises. I’m up early to get a jump on the day’s tasks. After a quick breakfast, I head over to the Calico Rock Mine and Ghost Town. The first thing I do is check on the grounds to make sure everything’s in order. There’s always something that needs attention—a loose board here, a leaky pipe there. Once that’s sorted, I review our schedule for the day and make sure our tour guides and reenactors are ready. It’s a bit like conducting a symphony, making sure all the pieces fall into place.

Mid-morning often finds me in the office, handling a myriad of tasks—answering emails, planning upcoming events, and managing staff schedules. But it’s not all paperwork; I love brainstorming new ways to bring more visitors to Calico Rock. Whether it’s organizing a themed event or updating our social media, there’s always something to keep me on my toes.

Afternoons are when the fun begins. I might lead a tour or join a group of reenactors to ensure everything is running smoothly. The visitors’ reactions are always the highlight of my day. Seeing their faces light up as they experience the history and charm of Calico Rock makes all the hard work worth it.

The evening is when things tend to get more personal. After the ghost town closes, I might catch up on my reading (I love cozy mysteries), spend time with my family or work on the next big mystery that’s brewing in town. And, of course, there’s always time to spend with Cody, my C.I.S. boyfriend, who helps me unwind after a long day.

I’d love to hear from you! What’s a typical day like in your life? Feel free to share your routines and any quirky details that make your day unique.
