In a few sentences, what is a typical day in your life like?
I usually get up at early to watch the sun rise over the ocean while sipping coffee on my deck. Most mornings I go to my family’s hotel and share breakfast with my attorney father, great-aunt, Chef Pierre, and Barnacle Bob, Auntie’s obnoxious Macaw. Following breakfast, I go up to the hotel’s bell tower to work on my current novel, and for lunch, I usually meet my boyfriend Ryan at his grandfather’s gourmet deli and coffee bar. Then back to my beach house to edit what I’ve written. After dinner, I usually go to the hotel’s screening room and watch one of my eighty-year-old flamboyant great-aunt’s mid-century television shows, most of which she starred in as character actress, including the vampire-themed soap Dark Shadows. That is a typical day, but I’ve learned to play it by ear, depending on what’s happening back at the Indialantic by the Sea Hotel and Emporium. You see we’ve had more than our fair share of murders.

You can read about Liz in Murder by the Sea, the third book in the “By the Sea” cozy mystery series, coming May 21, 2019.
