Hello, everyone! My name is Madison Cruz, although my boyfriend is over here nudging me to tell you my name is Madness. But that’s just a nickname my mother gave me that he happens to like. They both say it’s a good fit. Whatever. Anyone’s world would be filled with madness if they had my life. I’m a 24 year old struggling actress in Seattle who can’t pay her bills, so I supplement my income by delivering singing telegrams. But, if I’m honest, I do tend to get distracted every time I run into a dead body. I seem to spend most of my time either trying to earn a buck, or trying to find out who the killer is.

The only thing I work harder at is dodging my mother’s attempts to get me to follow in her footsteps, and fight crime as an FBI agent. No thanks Mom, I’m good.

As if having a straitlaced FBI agent for a mom weren’t enough, my grandmother is an ex-KGB agent who is wild and amazing. She always gets her man. And that’s a whole new meaning with my grandmother. Conversation around the dinner table can get awkward sometimes.

I don’t think my FBI mom, KGB grandmother, or even my boyfriend truly appreciate how hard it is for me to walk away when there’s a murder to solve. They want me to merely report it, and let the authorities do their job. LOL, as if! But my mom is right when she says I have her good instincts and strong drive to find the killer. The trouble is, I also have my grandmother’s willingness to break any rule, cross any boundary, and pretend to be someone I’m not, if it means I can get in where I need to be in order to solve this murder. This is where my talent as an actress comes in handy.

Well. . . I think I screwed up again. I came here, trying to put my best foot forward, but ended up confessing that I get in a lot of trouble. My boyfriend says I find more trouble by lunch than most people do in a week. Now that I think about it, I guess I do introduce an element of madness to those around me. But when I look at my awesome mom, amazing grandmother, and loving boyfriend, I know I’m one of the lucky ones. I’d do anything to keep them all safe, and. . .uh-oh. . . A body just dropped. You’ll have to excuse me. I have something I need to go do.
