My life has never been so hectic as it has been lately. Normally, filling out a day in the life of Mags McAllister would be maybe a paragraph. Wake, make candles, make candle-making videos, go home, maybe watch a movie or read a book, go to bed. Lather, rinse, repeat.
Not lately. I’ve recently discovered I’m descended from a woman who was in George Washington’s Culper Spy ring and in discovering that, I was haunted by the ghost of my ancestor!
I know. It’s nuts. If it hadn’t happened to me I wouldn’t have believed it.
For now, I’m actively searching for my ghostly ancestor’s burial site so I can put her at rest by solving her murder. On top of that, the shop I own with my aunt, Colonial Candles in Larkhaven, Georgia, was set on fire by my former assistant who also happened to be descended from the enemies of my family. Enemies I didn’t even know about until this happened!
It’s all a bit of a mess. Besides searching for the burial site, I’ve been helping clean up at the shop and at my aunt’s house. . . it also was burned down by Kim, my assistant. She’s quite the little firebug, as it turns out.
But hey, it’s okay. Everyone is safe and sound, and now I know I have a massive family history to dig into. It involves intrigue, a whole heap of lies, and enough mystery to keep me completely involved.
At least life isn’t boring, right?

I’m Mags McAllister, and my cat is a ghost.
Well, sort of. It’s a long story.
All you really need to know is that, thanks to said cat, I can now see the spirits of people long past.
They bring me the mysteries surrounding their death and expect me to solve them. But you can’t exactly do a quick Google search to learn more about small-town events that happened more than a century ago.
Apparently you help one wayward specter and more will start appearing at the foot of your bed in the middle of the night. Uh-huh, I’m creeped out, too.
This time, a Victorian-era gentleman named Patrick is in need of my assistance. Now what could he possibly want?
I guess there’s only one way to find out. . .
