Merry Winters first appeared in Not A Creature Was Stirring and one of the best ways to learn about a person is by asking questions, so let’s get to know Merry.

Merry Winters.

45, soon to turn 46.

What is your profession?
I’m a crafter who specializes in making Christmas related crafts and items for décor, gifts, and wearing.

Do you have a significant other?
No. I recently ended a rocky marriage and soon after my ex-husband was murdered. It best right now that I spend time getting to know myself better.

Any children?
I have two. Both in their early twenties.

Do you have any sibling(s)?
No.

Do your parents live near you?
My mother lives in an assisted living facility near me and my father passed away years ago.

Who is your best friend?
Bright, my business partner, even though we’ve never meet in person. Our decade long friendship has been built and grown through Facebook messages.

I own my house.

What is your favorite spot in your house?
My craft room.

Favorite meal? Favorite dessert?
Now that I’m an empty nester, my favorite meals are the ones where my children are home. Though, that has a lot to do with that for entrees, I’ve always like a wide assortment of food and never really had a favorite. Now desserts are an entirely different matter, my favorite are frosted sugar Christmas cookies.

Favorite hobby?
Vinyl crafting. Personalizing t-shirts are my favorite items to create.

Favorite color?
Christmas red.

Favorite author?
Charles Dickens.

I’m not a sports person.

Amateur sleuth.

Whom do you work with when sleuthing?
My business partner Bright helps me out on occasion. Since the sleuthing I’ve been doing is in my hometown, she’s able to have a more unbiased view on the clues I’m finding.

In a few sentences, what is a typical day in your life like?
My typical day is prioritizing the online craft orders while making sure Ebenezer stays out of mischief. The little guy has a thing for cords, ribbons, and anything in a round shape. And now that I don’t need a second job, I’m able to focus entirely on my crafting and I dabble in some new to me mediums. My latest big project was adding Christmas themed decals to my RV. I also spend a few days each week visiting my mom.

Checking it twice. Santa’s naughty list, courtesy of Jenna Wilcox, will roll down Main Street with names of residents who deserve a lump of coal in their stocking. Saving the parade won’t be easy, but Merry is up to task. Or so she thinks until she discovers Jenna’s body stashed in Santa’s sack.

Going to find out. As facts are unwrapped, Merry finds the line blurred between who’s naughty and nice. As threats are aimed at her and those she loves, Merry dashes for the truth before the murderer puts her on the naughty list and crosses her off for good.
