Roxy Gleason sits down for a Q&A with dru’s book musings responding to twenty or more questions so we can learn more about her. Are you ready? Let’s get to know Roxy.
What is your full name?
Roxanne Gleason, but pretty much everyone calls me Roxy
How old are you?
Twenty-seven
What is your profession?
Well, technically, I own an inn on the Susquehanna River called the Charmed Inn, but secretly I’m also a bibliomancer. It’s not as cool of a power as everyone else in my family, but the more I’m learning about it, the better it’s becoming!
Do you have a significant other?
I do now and my, oh my, Dean Manchester is quite significant.
What is their name and profession?
Dean Manchester (or at least that’s the last name he’s using right now) works on the ferry that crosses the river.
Do you have any children?
Not yet.
Do you have any siblings?
I sure do, and while I love them both, they are a bit of a handful, just saying!
Are your parents nearby?
Sometimes they are. LOL, they like to travel around the country in their RV. I love when they come in to visit but it’s also good when they go back out to follow their wild spirits.
Who is your best friend?
Dean is my best friend, which makes falling in love with him so much better.
Do you have cats, dogs, or other pets?
One black cat, the very sassy Mustafa, who I call Moose. He slinks around and is constantly trying to mess with my things, but I love him so much that I’m fine with that.
What town do you live in?
It’s a little town where the last ferry crosses the Susquehanna River called Millersburg.
What type of dwelling do you own or rent?
I have rooms of my own at the Charmed Inn that I love to hang out in when I’m not running around trying to manage the inn, the staff, and my relatives.
What is your favorite spot in your home?
The library! It’s an open two-story room packed with awesome groupings of antique couches and reading desks. It also has a rolling ladder like Belle’s in Beauty and the Beast. I tried to push off and roll down the row once. We don’t talk about that though.
What is your favorite meal and dessert?
Anything my wonderful and frustrating cook, Glennis, makes.
Do you have any hobbies?
For most of my life I would have called the bibliomancy a hobby, but ever since I found that first dead body on a ferry, things have been lighting up on that front and I’m taking it much more seriously.
What music do you listen to?
Anything and everything, but I love 1920s jazz.
What is your favorite color?
Green
What is your favorite vacation spot?
My very own inn when no one is there.
Are you a morning or night person?
Very much a night person, but that doesn’t always go well when you have people expecting breakfast, enter my lovely cook, Glennis, and my Aunt Hellen, who help those who are looking for anything before ten in the morning.
What is your idea of a really fun time?
Spending time with Dean, spending time with my grandfather, who I call Poobah, playing pool in my billiards room, hanging out in my library.
If you were to write a memoir, what would you call it?
Ask Me A Question, I’ll Tell You No Lies
Amateur or professional sleuth and whom do you work with?
Very much amateur in many ways. I work with my staff, my sister, and Dean.
What is a typical day in your life like?
Answering questions, taking and giving orders, trying to grab a few minutes with my boyfriend, and falling asleep with my cat wrapped around my head.

It’s a family reunion week at The Charmed Inn and the place is overrun with the Fairfield clan…
Every room is rented and every bed is full for Roxy Gleason and her staff. The family dynamics are a little strained at the outset but things get down and dirty when one of the matriarchs is found dead in the library with a candlestick. But who did the killing and why?
Roxy doesn’t want to get involved until her archnemesis in the local police department tries to pin the whole thing on one of her kitchen staff. There is no way the woman with the golden spatula would jeopardize her entire life’s work over a secret recipe… Or is there?
Roxy will have to use her gift in all the ways she knows how to be able to keep her friend from being caught up in a web of hot chocolate, divinely prepared pie and murder a la mode.
About the author
Misty Simon always wanted to be a storyteller…preferably behind a Muppet. Animal was number one, followed closely by Sherlock Hemlock… Since that dream didn’t come true, she began writing stories to share her world with readers, one laugh at a time. Touching people’s hearts and funny bones are two of her favorite things, and she hopes everyone at least snickers in the right places when reading her books. She lives with her husband in Central Pennsylvania where she is hard at work on her next novel or three. She loves to hear from readers so drop her a line at misty@mistysimon.com.
Love this — not so much answers to questions as a portrait of her attitude.
Sounds like so much fun. Really hoping for an audiobook, please and thank you!
