That cabin was Charlotte’s consolation prize, and she’s chosen to travel the world in luxury, with her sister Jane along for the ride.

Dru’s Short Musing:
I love this series. Char and Jane are back and dismayed to learned that Kyrie Dawn, Char’s deceased husband’s mistress is now a staff member on their residence cruise ship. When one of the staffers is murdered, Kyrie Dawn is found standing over the body with the murder weapon. Char is asked to take care of her baby and look for the person responsible for the murder.

I love how the author staged this solidly wicked whodunit with a ship full of potential suspects (okay, the storyline dictates a smaller pool of suspects) and the determination of our two heroines to find the true killer among lies being told. One by one, each suspect exposes their true self and it’s up to Char and Jane to decipher those clues and bring the real killer to justice. There were a few red herrings that kept me in the game and a few surprises that demonstrated the writing expertise of the author in delivering a story that was both engaging and entertaining with a few chuckles along the way. Overall, this was a wonderfully executed drama that boasts a delightful cast of characters, a small, enclosed setting, and good conversations that enhanced my reading pleasure. I look forward to more exploits with Char, Jane, and Xavier.
