But now Mac’s friend Gin has found herself in a sticky situation. After wealthy genealogist Beverly Ruchart is found dead outside Gin’s taffy shop, the candy maker becomes a person of interest. When it’s revealed that Beverly was poisoned the night Gin brought a box of taffy to a dinner party at Beverly’s house, she’s bumped to the top of the suspects list. It’s up to Mac and her Cozy Capers crime solvers to unwrap this real-life mystery. But this time they might have bitten off more than they can chew . . .

Oh, what a fun time I had reading this delightfully engaging tale. This was a well-written and fast paced drama that quickly became a page-turner as I could not put the book down until all was said and done.

The author did a great job in setting the stage for a mystery well worth its weight in gold as a suspicious death occurs and when one of the Cozy Capers is the prime suspect, the crew set out to investigate in a manner where no interrogation is taking place, but it’s what they learn that helps to solve the murder mystery. I love the interactions between Mac and her friends, especially Cokey. She is just adorable. Her presence on the page makes me smile. I do like that the narrative was visually descriptive with engaging dialogue that put me in the middle of all the action. Oh, I can’t forget the hero in this tale, and for that you’ll have to read this wonderful entertaining book that boast a great cast of characters and a small-town atmosphere. This was one of the best books in the series (I know there’s only two) and I can’t wait for the next book in the series.
