Six Easy Pockets by Cindy Blackburn is the sixth book in the “Cue Ball” humorous romantic mystery series. Publisher: Cindy Blackburn, June 2018

Pool shark Jessie Hewitt likes to call the shots. But apparently her two best friends didn’t get that memo. Candy Poppe has taken up with the wrong man. And Karen Sembler? She’s been kidnapped! Jessie’s no-nonsense husband, Wilson Rye the cop guy, suggests she leave the crime-solving to the experts and the love lives to those involved. Does Jessie listen? Take a guess.

Six Easy Pockets is loaded with all the humor, mayhem, and mystery Cindy Blackburn’s fans have come to expect. But this one also includes a millionaire, a mansion, and a princess!

I’ve been longing for the return of Jessie and her friends and I’m so happy she is back. Hilarity ensues when her BFF is kidnapped and nothing could stop Jessie from being “nosy” and using her intuition as she track down the clues with a story-line that mirrors the book she is writing and would eventually lead to the person responsible for her missing friend.

I have missed this series and I’m so glad the author stayed true to the hilarity of these lovable characters that have become friends. This was an enjoyable and amusing drama that had Jessie thrown into a loop with a missing friend and concerns with another. This book kept me engaged from the witty dialogue to a solid mystery to humorous antics and from beginning to end. The author did a great job in delivering a multi-plot tale with a mansion full of suspects but it’s the core five that stands out and it was fun watching Jessie dwindled the list down with her usual style until only one person was left standing. With laughs here and clues there, the author planted a few twists and turns that enhanced how well this story was being told with visually descriptive narrative that placed me in the middle of all the action. A hilarious romp through the life and times of Jessie Hewitt and I can’t wait for the next book in the delightfully charming series.
