Batter Off Dead by Maddie Day
Series Name: Country Store Mystery #10
Genre: Cozy

Dru’s very short musing
This was a wonderful book that quickly became a page-turner as I had to know who was doing what to whom. This lighthearted whodunit kept me immersed in all aspects and I reveled in the way the mystery was set up to keep me engaged. As always it was fun watching it all play out with clues uncovered and suspects narrowed until there was only one. I always enjoy my visit to South Lick, Indiana and look forward to more exciting times with Robbie and her friends.

Live, Local, and Dead by Nikki Knight
Series Name: Vermont Radio Mystery #1
Genre: Cozy

Dru’s very short musing
This was a good book, but I would not classify this as a cozy, maybe a cozy with an edge only because there were snippets of politics, & etc., which distracted my reading a bit. However, I enjoyed the story being told and liked Jaye and her relationships with her family and friends. The mystery was nicely done and I’m looking forward to the next book.

Broken Ties by Shannon Baker
Series Name: Kate Fox Mystery #5
Genre: Traditional

Dru’s very short musing
Broken Ties was grippingly intriguing and riveting to its core. The storyline was tightly woven keeping me glued to the pages. Kate gets caught up in familial discourse in pursuit of her missing niece and when things start unraveling, a can of worms was opened with some surprising results. The ending left me concerned but I hope things turn out for Kate in the next book.
