Genre: Private Investigator
Release: May 10, 2022

PI Kelly Pruett finally feels like she’s coming into her own. With her personal life well on track, a gig uncovering what drove a client’s granddaughter underground could be good for business. Vowing to expose the truth even if it means pro-bono work, Kelly is taken aback when her half-sister helps her hunt down answers in a tent city brimming with distrust. When her investigation doesn’t move quickly enough to save a second woman from a vicious murder, Kelly doubles her efforts unwilling to accept defeat.

Dru’s Short Musing:
This was a fast-paced and action-packed drama that I could not put down, quickly becoming a page-turner as I had to know what happens next. The author knows how to tell a story that pulls you in and never lets you go until the last page is turned. The mystery was cleverly executed with suspects and clues that had me following along with what the author intended. Kelly is on the case of a missing homeless young woman and walk into a den of inequity. As she gets a bit closer to the players involved, mischief and mayhem makes its presence known and Kelly must survive on her wits with a little help from an unlikely source. I love how the author intertwines Kelly’s personal life with her case as she deals with her family. Overall, this was the best book in the series and I hope there are more cases with Kelly.

FTC Full Disclosure – I received a digital ARC of this book from the author.
