Perfect for fans of Kate Carlisle and Victoria Gilbert, when a body is found in a hardware store, will Dawna Carpenter’s sleuthing measure up to find the killer?

Dru’s Short Musing:
I had such a fun time reading this book where all that I enjoy in a cozy is evident in the telling of this tale.

The author did a great job in providing a well-written whodunit with a comfortable tone making it easy to follow along. Each chapter had a clear transition as to how the story was progressing. With the introduction of an eclectic cast of characters, one of whom will be the murder victim, mother and daughter start looking for clues behind the murder. The staging and pacing were on par with how well this story was being told, with potential suspects, evidence, and a few twists and turns that kept me in the game. I had a good time watching all the pieces fall into place, especially when I thought I had a handle of the killer’s identity but was surprised by another piece that eventually put it all together. With a small-town atmosphere and engaging dialogue, this was an enjoyable read and I look forward to more exploits with Dawna and April.
