Dru’s Short Musing:
A group of retired teachers, wary of getting justice for their former student, begin an investigation to find the person responsible for her murder and what a can of worms that was opened.
This was a nicely executed whodunit that I could not put down until all was said and done. The author did a great job staging this mystery with an intriguing cast of characters from the main protagonist to the murder victim to the small pool of suspects and to the information gathered that would lead to the killer’s identity. Integrated into this multi-plot storyline, we learn a little bit about each character and the pivotal role they played in this drama. With visually descriptive narrative and informative dialogue, the story came alive on the page and as it moved forward the suspenseful nature intensified as Meg and friends faced danger in their pursuit of justice. There were a few twists and turns that enhanced my reading pleasure, especially when it came to fruition the motive behind the murder. Overall, this was an enjoyable read and I look forward to more adventures with Meg and her friends in this delightfully charming new series.
