The Fog Ladies are back, in the third installment of this endearing cozy murder mystery series.
“There was a man in the soup.” When the Fog Ladies volunteer at a San Francisco soup kitchen, these spunky elderly friends plus one overworked young doctor-in-training envision washing and chopping and serving. Not murder.
Now the soup kitchen is doomed, and the mysteries have just begun. Was the death rooted in a long-ago grudge? Can they save the soup kitchen? Will they find the killer? Could the Fog Ladies, too, end up “in the soup”?
Dru’s Short Musing:
Six women, all seniors except for Sarah who is a resident doctor live in a San Francisco building. They say curiosity kills the cat, but not these women who thrive on solving mysteries, especially when it hits a bit closer to home, and in this case, the soup kitchen where they volunteer.
The author does a great job in presenting this multi-arc storyline with a tightly woven mystery that catered to everything I like: a visually descriptive narrative with a good plot, suspects worthy of being courted, a strong sense of justice, an eclectic cast of characters, and a nice backdrop that adds to the energy of this tale. One of the things I like about this series is collectively each Fog Lady contributes to solving the mystery with their observations.
FTC Full Disclosure – I received a digital ARC of this book from the author.
