Dru’s Short Musing:
Samantha’s reputation in solving crime goes international when a trip arranged by her father-in-law is more than just that when Sam finds out that her host wants her to do what she does best and that is solving a murder.

Like fine wine, hey we are in Italy, this series gets better with each book written. It has everything I enjoy in a cozy, a well-rounded cast of characters, a solid mystery that kept me immersed from the first page to the finale, a complex puzzle with clues here and there that were meant to be pieced together, a few tense moments thrown in to keep me in suspense, a few laughs that kept me amused, and the perfect backdrop for Samantha to do her thing, Italy. Because the crime was decades ago, this felt like a closed-door mystery where the truths were uncovered due to Sam’s doggedness with help from friends that shed a light on what happened, and I applaud the author because that was a nice twist with the revelation of the killer’s identity. The pacing was on par with how well this story was being told and this is one of the best books in this fashionably delightful series and I can’t wait for Sam’s next adventure.

Book Synopsis:
Cozy with a chance of meatballs…

When style expert Samantha Kidd plans a holiday in Italy, she expects scenic piazzas, endless pasta, and maybe a little romance—not a murder mystery older than her passport. Samantha’s idyllic vacation comes to a screeching halt when a favor for her host pulls her into a decades-old mystery and lands her in more hot water than her morning espresso.

The case? The murder of Alfredo, the town’s most hated man. The suspect? Pasquale, a mild-mannered cobbler who has spent decades in prison for the crime. The twist? Samantha’s host should have been Pasquale’s alibi—if she hadn’t left town that night to start invasive cancer treatments in Switzerland.

Armed with her quick wit, a love of gelato, and the undercover help of her shoe designer husband, Samantha will need all the luck she can muster to solve the crime and make it through her getaway alive.

Murder Italian Style is a sparkling mystery for anyone who loves their whodunits served with a side of laughter and linguini. Settle in with a glass of Prosecco; this is one vacation you won’t forget!
