Dru’s Short Musing:
Nell’s back and this time she and Jesse are honeymooning on a cruise in between Nell giving quilt classes. When one of the quilters goes missing and another is found dead, it doesn’t take much for Nell to start looking for the person responsible.
The author did a great job in staging this well-written whodunit with a solid plot, visually descriptive narrative, engaging dialogue and a mystery that had me immediately immersed in all that was happening. The suspect pool was small (okay, could be large on a cruise ship) but we knew who the players were, and the author gave us enough backstory to keep me intrigued in all possibilities and it was fun watching this all play out as Nell uncovered each piece of the puzzle to form a complete picture. When I thought I had a handle on who was doing what to whom, the few red herrings and the change of directions enhanced my reading pleasure especially when it provided the pivotal clue where the killer’s identity and motive was revealed.
This was an excellent read and I’m so happy to see Nell and Jesse and I hope there are more stories forthcoming. Yay, Nell is back! Oh, the best part was the librarian who happens to share my name. 😊

Book Synopsis:
Nell Fitzgerald and Jesse Dewalt are celebrating their honeymoon on a cruise to Alaska. But it’s not just a vacation, Nell is a last-minute replacement teacher for a special quilting cruise. It would be a chance to bring Someday Quilts Patterns to a larger audience and hopefully, a chance for Nell and Jesse to get a time alone in the evening.
Except one quilter goes missing and another ends up dead. And that’s just the beginning. Nell and Jesse have until the morning to solve the case if they want to keep the cruise going… and stay alive.
