Teach Her A Lesson by Kate Flora
Genre: Domestic Thriller

Format: Print, Digital
What do you do when you’re accused of an unspeakable crime and know you’re innocent, but the evidence against you is so compelling? After six years as a high school English teacher, Alexis Jordan thinks her biggest problems are a case of burnout and her suspicion that her husband is having an affair.
Then things take a sudden, unexpected turn that threatens to end her marriage, wreck her career, and destroy her life when the student she’s coaching for the school play makes a pass at her and she turns him down. Alexis doesn’t realize that he is obsessed with her and has been building toward this moment for months. Nor that when he’s rejected, he will set out to destroy her with his version of their “affair”—which is terrifyingly plausible.
Dru’s Short Musing:
The author created a story that showcased the machination of a teenager’s warped mind and the impact his mischievousness has on a teacher’s personal and professional life.
This is a tightly woven tale of suspense that immediately grabbed my attention never letting go from the first page to its conclusion. The author did a great job in setting the stage that kept me immersed in all aspects from the teen’s allegations to the teacher’s innocence to the betrayal of those close to her and to those on her side. This well-written and fast-paced drama kept me in the game, and I could not put this book down until all was said and done. With visually descriptive narrative, I could feel the fear of the protagonist and the author gave us a plentitude of emotions from all characters that played a pivotal role in the telling of this intensifying tale. Overall, this was a great read that had my heart-pumping as I had to know the outcome. Good job.
FTC Full Disclosure – I received a digital ARC of this book from the author.
