In Seaside Cove, every truffle has a dark side. The peaceful paradise of Seaside Cove gets a rude awakening when the home of newcomers Tyler Winkle and his spirited niece, Veronica Campbell, gets turned upside down. The only thing missing? The family’s secret chocolate recipe that Tyler kept in a safe.
Dru’s Short Musing:
Alex befriends an older teenager whose antics bring discomfort to Alex and her family. When the young friend harbors resentment towards her uncle, she brings Alex into the fray.
The author continues to deliver a satisfying read with crisp writing, engaging dialogue and visually descriptive narrative. The mystery was nicely executed and kept me in the game and when I thought I knew what was going to happen, the author placed a few twists and turns to keep me guessing, until it became clear who the guilty party was. Nicely done. Alex is at the top of her game as we watched her grow from a young girl to a teenager who must take responsibility for her actions, and in this one, the older teenager is the problem. I really enjoyed this one, especially as the relationship between Alex and Marquetta matures. Overall, an excellent read and I look forward to more stories with Alex, Rick and their friends.
