Tasha Weaver has seen her fair share of divas come and go while working as the costume shop head at the Eastbrook Playhouse, but her beloved theater is put at risk when the star of the show is killed in this fun but deadly debut. Tasha Weaver is most at home in the cozy backstage world of the Eastbrook Playhouse. As the costume shop head at the charming regional theater, she’s used to watching dramatic acts of love and revenge from the shadows. But when Kurt Mozer—the insufferable Broadway reject who stars in their production of Annie Get Your Gun—is shot center stage, the spotlight turns to her.
Dru’s Short Musing:
Tasha inadvertently sent a man to his demise and is determined to help solve his murder.
This was a fun and intriguing whodunit where the workings of a small-town theater take center stage. The author did a great job in presenting this drama where nothing is at it seems. With plenty of suspects, I had a good time following the leads that were dropped into the multi-plot storyline. When I had an inkling as to the person responsible, the setup changed which made the story more compelling. With visually descriptive narrative, engaging dialogue, this well-written tome kept me immersed in all that was happening on the page. With an eclectic cast of characters, I was enthralled in the roles they played that would eventually lead to the revelation of the killer’s identity. I enjoyed this book and look forward to more in this debut series.

I have to read this cozy mystery! My first live play experience was as a twelve-year-old sister to Annie Oakley in this favorite musical play. Great review, Dru Ann!
Getting for my partner who is retired from a career managing shows on Broadway and the road. He’ll love this.
