This Christmas has been anything but jolly. First, her son decides not to return home for the holiday, then her neighbor, Jared, threatens to kill her beloved dog, Boomer. The following day Jared is murdered. Myaisha becomes a prime suspect. In fact, the entire neighborhood had a motive to kill Jared, but murder is Myaisha’s métier.

As an amateur mystery writer and sleuth, the Greensboro homicide detectives quickly identify Myaisha as a suspect. Her relationship with the lead detective may be the sole reason she is not arrested. Though her association with a homicide detective has its benefits, there are also complications, namely her romance with AJ, a local firefighter who fears their relationship may have ended.

With Christmas days away, the police narrow down their list of suspects. Somehow, Myaisha remains at the top of their list. Fortunately, with the help of her fellow Greensboro Women of Color Writing Group, Myaisha sets aside her holiday blues and uncovers the true reason behind Jared’s murder.

About the author
As a military dependent, Michelle moved between San Diego, California and Charleston, South Carolina. A career in medicine brought her to Michigan State where she completed a pediatric residency program. After over twenty years in clinical medicine, she accepted a job as a medical consultant.

As a member of Crime Writers of Color and Capitol Crimes, a sub-chapter of Sisters in Crime, her writing interests cover many genres—mysteries, thrillers, and fantasies. Her protagonists, like herself, are perimenopausal women who write to fill a void. Most days you can find her outside in her garden, drinking tea or biking.
