You can read about Poppy in Fields’ Guide to Abduction, the first book in the NEW “Poppy Fields” adventure series.
Poppy Fields, Hollywood IT girl extraordinaire, agreed to a week at the newest, most luxurious resort in Cabo. After all, what’s better than the beach when a girl is feeling blue? When Poppy is abducted, she’ll need all her smarts, all her charm, and a killer Chihuahua, to save herself in this new series from the USA Today bestselling author of The Country Club Murders.
Dead body #1 found in bed, with me. That was a shock.
Dead body #2 found in bed, not with me. That was a relief.
Dead body #3 died telling me I’m a lousy actress. I already knew that.
Dead body #4 died trying to kill me.
Dead body #5 died kidnapping me.
Dead body #6 died guarding me.
Dead body #7 was a really bad man.
Dead body #8 was an even worse man.
That’s a lot of dead bodies for a girl looking for a week’s relaxation in Cabo. And, I’m probably leaving a few out—math isn’t my thing. Unless I can escape the cartel, I might be the next dead body.

About the author
Julie Mulhern is a Kansas City native who grew up on a steady diet of Agatha Christie. She spends her spare time whipping up gourmet meals for her family, working out at the gym and finding new ways to keep her house spotlessly clean–and she’s got an active imagination. Truth is–she’s an expert at calling for take-out, she grumbles about walking the dog and the dust bunnies under the bed have grown into dust lions.
All comments are welcomed.
I’m going on an adventure to Mexico in 4 days time. This will be in Puerto Vallarta, not Cabo, the first vacation this single Mom of 2 teenagers has had in 18 years. I will try hard not to be kidnapped and to avoid dead bodies in my bed!
Sharon, have a wonderful trip. I’ll keep my fingers crossed that you avoid abduction and dead bodies – although, you might want to take Fields’ Guide with you just in case…
My teenage friend Judy and I went off the trail in the mountains above a pond and couldn’t get down. My Dad somehow got us to safety.
Helen, glad your dad was there to come to the rescue! Thanks for taking time to comment!
No adventures for me, but we did take a road trip from New England to Alaska and back.
That’s quite a drive. Wow!
Can’t wait to see what happens to Poppy! I am sure nothing I can say would begin to compare to her excitement. I haven’t been abducted or slept with any dead people. I once was scheduled for surgery and in the OR awaiting the final anesthetic, when the nurse said to me, now we are doing XXXX, right? I practically fell off the bed I sat up so quickly shouting no, no, no! It turns out my doctor had another patient with the same name as me (but spelled a little differently) scheduled right ahead of me. The nurses got us mixed up and took me in ahead of her! My “adventure” was quite different from Poppy’s, but my heart was probably pounding just as hard!!!
Wow! I can’t even imagine!!!
No wild & crazy adventures for me but I can’t wait to read this new series by a favorite author.
Thanks so much, Doward!
I’ve been on vacations but no exciting or dangerous adventures for me. I’ll live vicariously through Poppy. Thank you for the chance to win.
No one has vacations like Poppy’s ~ at least I hope not!
Nothing wild and crazy darn it! My sister and I took a road trip from Texas to Deadwood SD last summer. We took a couple of ghost tours while there. At one place the owner kept addressing all his remarks to me rather than the 20+ others there. My sister refers to him as my boyfriend to this day.
But did you see any ghosts???
Hell no! I think they go on vacation when I show up.
My husband prefaces a lot of his college stories with “it was late, and I had been drinking heavily,” which is my explanation for this adventure. I was on a college tour of Europe, and our last night was at the Beefeater in London where they served plenty of mead and beer. We all got pretty sloshed and went to walk it off by the Thames. Before I knew it, I was in a drinking contest with the first mate of a Polish yacht (like Karen Allen in Indiana Jones), and I won (a dubious honor). To this day, am grateful that I had my friends with me, and we all made it home safely!
Very fun – I have a similar story with an Irish rugby team (I didn’t win).
I’ve stayed in a haunted hotel. Didn’t see the ghost tho, so not too wild.
I’m GLAD you didn’t see a ghost!
No wild and crazy adventure for me. Just lots of road trips and visited lots of interesting places.
I LOVE road trips. My husband not so much….
The biggest adventure I’ve experienced is taking a taxi in Mexico..they are crazy drivers! We went to a shopping area, and I had to use the restroom. You have to pay for toilet paper, I had no money on me. The stall didn’t have a door, and no toilet just a hole in the floor. I decided to hold it until we got back to our resort. Yes I know I’m not too adventurous.
Sounds dreadful!!!
**** WINNER ****
Fields’ Guide to Abduction is Pat Dupuy
