In her new photography series, Lydia has re-created death scenes from actual murders, using friends as her models. Carefully setting the scenes with historically accurate clothing and locations, Lydia hopes to draw attention to thelives of the victimrs who died nameless on the streets of New York.
But a killer makes sure Lydia’s opening night is more than memorable when he kills and poses one of Lydia’s models just like her photograph. Two detectives haul Lydia in for questioning.
Worried that the police aren’t doing what they should, Lydia sets out to find the killer. She becomes convinced that the murderer, who knows far too much about her artistic process, has to be among her fellow artists in hip Williamsburg, Brooklyn. She must move fast before the killer strikes again and makes Lydia his next victim.
Meredith Cole’s debut is an energetic, entertaining read, trumpeting an original new heroine in crime fiction.
This was a good debut novel from Meredith Cole. Lydia is hoping her one-woman show will make her a sought out artist, but that is ruined when one of her models is found dead. When more people are harmed, Lydia starts looking for clues within the Williamsburg community of artists. My rating: 3.5 stars
