Sometimes the best way to know a person is by asking questions, where you can learn more about what makes them tick. Let’s see who we have today.

What is your name?
– –  Reagan Summerside

How old are you?
– –  34. Okay, 35 but I’m stopping here I swear.

What is your profession?
– –  Owner of the Prissy Fox Consignment Shop, Savannah, GA.

Do you have a significant other?
– –  Well I do now and yippee! Just got engaged to the amazing and totally hunky Walker Boone. Yes, me! Loser-magnet Summerside is engaged!

What is his profession?
– –  Walker Boone is an attorney and once-upon-a-time member of the 17th Street Gang and truth be told he still has connections and friends in that camp and so do I.

Any children?
– –  No, much to the disappointment of my mother. Seems she’s been harboring this great need to be a grandma. She’s even picked out the names for two grandchildren and of course one of the little not born yet darlings is named after her.

Cats, dogs or other pets?
– –  You bet there’s a pet! Bruce Willis. He’s a rescue pup though it’s still a toss up who rescued who. BW is my BFF. I coaxed him out from under my front porch with Chicken McNuggets and we’ve been sharing everything ever since including my birthday since I didn’t know when his was.

What town do you live in?
– –  The lovely historic Savannah, GA.

Do you rent or own?
– –  The bank and I own Cherry House. I turned the first floor of Cherry House into the Prissy Fox Consignment Shop so I could afford my lovely money-pit. My old Victorian is a pile of lumber into which I dump large amounts of money to keep it standing.

House or building complex?
– –  Old Victorian in the Victorian district of Savannah. Fifteen years ago you could have bought the whole Victorian district for a bottle of good bourbon but things have changed!

What is your favorite spot in your house?
– –  The front porch. This is where my dear Auntie KiKi and I. . .and BW. . .sit and sort out our latest murder mystery over a jigger of martinis. Sometimes it’s a two-olive mystery and sometimes three. Never underestimate the power of a good martini.

Who is your best friend?
– –  Auntie KiKi. . .the auntie we all need in our lives. She says all the things I wish I did and is loyal to a fault and she makes the best fried chicken on the planet.

Amateur sleuth or professional?
– –  Amateur and I’m always getting dragged into these murder mysteries by friends who manage to get themselves in a mess. But here in Savannah friends take care of friends.

Who do you work with when sleuthing?
– –  Auntie KiKi and I have gotten ourselves into some major messes. There was the time our brakes gave out on the car and we landed in the swamp with the alligators. Boy they can sure swim fast! And the time Auntie KiKi had to jump from the burning fire escape. And then there’s the time Walker Boone was accused of murder and took my pink scooter to escape the cops hot on his trail. BW and I have tracked more than our share of bad guys. Not that we’re all that brave but we give each other moral support when things go right to hell in a hand-basket.

Favorite meal?
– –  Doughnuts with sprinkles! Snickers!

Favorite dessert?
– –  You had me at dessert!

Favorite hobby?
– –  Junk food

Favorite vacation spot?
– –  Auntie KiKi’s kitchen. . .did I mention the friend chicken?

Favorite color?
– –  My blond hair when I find the time to dye it so I don’t have skunk-strip hair.

Favorite author?
– –  I love Nancy Drew and use some tricks from her adventures to get me out of jams. When I don’t know what to do I think. . .WWND. . .What Would Nancy Do.

Favorite sports team?
– –  The trivial pursuit team at Pinkie Masters who whistle at me when I wear short-shorts.

Movies or Broadway?
– –  Old Yeller. . .BW and I cry buckets!

Are you a morning or a night person?
– –  The Prissy Fox opens at ten so I’m up for that but it’s always easier to hunt the bad guys in the dark. . .unless they hunt you first.

In two to three sentences, what is a typical day in your life like?
– –  Open the Fox at ten, convince customers their slightly-worn clothes are not worth as much as the day they bought them, try not to get sucked in by the latest mayhem afflicting friends and family who think I can save their sorry butts and know it’s the Savannah way to say YES when someone is in trouble!

You can read about Reagan in Lethal in Old Lace, the fifth book in the “Consignment Shop” mystery series, coming March 13, 2018. The first book in the series is Iced Chiffon.

There are two social functions in Savannah guaranteed to get people talking: weddings and funerals. And just as consignment shop owner Reagan Summerside agrees to marry the hunky Walker Boone, her neighbors, sisters Annie Fritz and Elsie Abbot, step up their business as professional mourners. They are so successful that the Sleepy Pines Retirement Center has hired them as a part of their retirement package. But the celebration over good business is cut short when the residents at Pines suddenly begin dying at an alarming rate. And the sisters are the first suspects.

Reagan has her doubts, however, and begins to look into the strange phenomenon. But then something even stranger happens: a body winds up in the sisters’ pink Caddy. The evidence begins to pile up and the suspicious case of Willie Fishbine, who swindled the sisters out of a fortune and coincidentally died prior to the Pines case, is reopened.

Not wanting Willie to be buried until they can find the killer responsible for the murders, Reagan must catch the culprit in time to walk down the aisle. Witty, fabulous, and full of charm, Lethal in Old Lace is perfect for fans of Ellery Adams and Jenn McKinlay.
