As Gouda As DeadAs Gouda as Dead by Avery Aames is the 6th book in the “Cheese Shop” mystery series. Publisher: Berkley Prime Crime, February 2015

Someone is cheesed off . . .

Providence, Ohio, is celebrating Valentine’s Day with weeklong events, including lovers’ baskets with heart-shaped cheeses at Fromagerie Bessette. Charlotte Bessette is celebrating by finally walking down the aisle with the man of her dreams, handsome artisanal cheese farmer, Jordan Pace. But when a beloved bar owner is discovered murdered on Jordan’s farm, he believes they should reschedule their wedding given the grim turn of events.

Charlotte is heartsick over the postponement. This killer crossed the wrong woman. No one, but no one, is ruining her wedding plans!

I love it. Will Charlotte and Jordan get marry? Who really killed the bar owner? This was a great read that I could not put down as I had to know what happens next. With a town full of suspects, it was quite enjoyable watching how it all played out in scenes that flowed so easily keeping me glued to the pages. The mystery was presented in a way that kept me intrigued from beginning to end with a surprising twist that made it all worth the ride. I do like how the chief despite not really wanting Charlotte’s help, accepted it and of course there is Rebecca who I love as secondary character. Everyone was present and accounted for in this endearing story that boasts a great cast of characters, engaging conversations and a feel good atmosphere in Providence, Ohio, a town I would love to live in, despite the murders. This is one of the best in this delectably appetizing series and I look forward to my next visit with Charlotte and her friends. Bonus recipes are included.
