Rosa is the main protagonist in “Rosa The Cuban Psychic” mysteries and sits down to answer a few questions so that we can get to know her better.
What is your full name?
Rosa De Los Reyes
How old are you?
32
What is your profession?
A couture fashion designer with “special” abilities.
Do you have a significant other?
Yes, I have recently started a romantic relationship with someone from Colten Island.
If so, what is his name and profession?
Sheriff Storm.
Do you have any children?
No, not at the moment.
Do you have any siblings?
No.
Are your parents nearby?
Yes. As Cuban parents go, they are always around. They even have a spare key to my house which means they sometimes show up at the most inopportune times.
Who is your best friend?
Well, I actually have four best friends – Alexandra, Maruchi, Ellie, and Caridad. We call each other Las Cubanitas.
Do you have any pets?
No, but my Abuela Nana’s familiar, Moro, spends a lot of time with me. Even now he is here in Paris keeping me company during my one-year internship at the House of Mather.
What town do you live in?
I live on Colten Island just off of Miami, FL.
Do you live in a small town or a big city?
I actually live in an island only accessibly by ferry.
What type of dwelling do you own or rent?
I own a cottage right on the water.
What is your favorite spot in your home?
My favorite spot in my home is the back deck where I can see the boats going by every day.
What is your favorite meal and dessert?
My go-to favorite meal is white rice, black beans, and carne con papa. For dessert, it’s flan. I eat that once a week at La Misteriosa Cafe.
Do you have any hobbies?
I enjoy collecting rare fabrics from around the world to use them in my fashion collections.
What is your favorite vacation spot?
Well, I thought Paris would be my favorite vacation spot, but since I just found a dead body with a note that includes my name, I think that’s no longer true. Sooo, I will have to say this quaint cottage I sometimes escape to in the winter. Situated in the back of an estate in the English countryside, it has a resident ghost to keep me and Raul company.
What is your idea of a really fun time?
My idea of a really fun time would include outdoor activities, especially in the winter. Now, I also have to mention I love to dance salsa. So, anytime I have a chance to go out with friends or just dance around the house or even at La Misteriosa Cafe, I am very happy.
If you were to write a memoir, what would you call it?
Rosa, La Cubanita Who Could See Ghosts.
Amateur or professional sleuth and whom do you work with?
I am definitely an amateur sleuth. Solving mysteries is not my profession, but it seems no matter where I go death follows. Actually, I work alongside my spirit guide Raul. He was born in Cuba, loved to dance and was very particular about his clothing. Raul is what you would call a fashionista.
What is a typical day in your life like in general and when you are on a case?
Generally, my day begins with a swim at the local pool on Colten Island. Then, I’m off to my shop to work on designs. I also like to check in with the seamstresses to make sure everything runs smoothly. However, when I’m on a case I am fully focused on trying to figure out what happened to the recently deceased ghost who appears asking for help. When trying to solve murders, I do tend to use my mind reading abilities and most of the time it helps me catch the killer.

About the author
For the longest time, Ileana Muñoz-Renfroe wanted to be an author. Almost twenty years later, and after raising two children and owning numerous businesses, she decided to take the plunge.
About a year ago, as she sat in a Café in Paris, the idea of Rosa popped into her head, and the stories and characters became real. Since two of her passions are the paranormal and high-end fashion, she found a way to combine them and created Rosa The Cuban Psychic Mysteries. This series brings together her Cuban and American culture to make for a fun cozy mystery story.
She is hard at work writing books 2 and 3 of Rosa The Cuban Psychic Mysteries. She is also working on several new series. For instance, there is A Tarot and Caravan Mysteries featuring Abuela Nana and her newly acquired vintage caravan. Candeedo Brewdinkle Series involves Candeedo, a retired spy who solves mysteries in the quaint town of Killian Cove. Another new series, Las Cubanitas, has Rosa and her best friends – Maruchi, Alexandra, Ellie, and Caridad solving mysteries together. Finally, she has started writing children’s books. The Gizmo Adventures, book 1 “Gizmo Welcomes a New Baby” is in English and Spanish. Book 2 is in progress.
When she is not writing, she enjoys traveling, reading, entertaining, and listening to music.
