Sabrina sits down for a question-and-answer session with dru’s book musings so that we, the readers, can get to know her better.

What is your full name?
Sabrina “Salty” Salter

How old are you?
42

What is your profession?
I was a television meteorologist until I went on trial for killing my husband, which also killed my career. Now I run a villa management business on St. John in the U.S. Virgin Islands with my best friend, Henry.

Do you have a significant other?
I do! When I’m not on the outs with him.

If so, what is his name and profession?
Neil Perry, owner and proprietor of Bar None, former attorney from L.A. who has recently passed the Virgin Islands bar exam, which comes in handy for me.

Do you have any children?
No

Do you have any siblings?
Not that I know of.

Are your parents nearby?
My father lives in Ireland where he was born. My mother has been missing since I was a toddler, which I am currently investigating with my grandmother, Grace.

Who is your best friend?
Henry Whitman, former flight attendant.

Do you have any pets?
A lovely Chocolate lab named Girlfriend, which was a gift from Henry who noticed I had no girlfriends.

What town do you live in?
I live in the Fish Bay neighborhood on St. John.

Do you live in a small town or a big city?
St. John is a U.S. Virgin Island three miles wide by nine miles long.

What type of dwelling do you own or rent?
I live in a cottage which has a tarp instead of a roof right now after Hurricane Irma ravaged St. John.

What is your favorite spot in your home?
I love sitting on my favorite wicker rocking chair on my screened in porch overlooking my little pool.

What is your favorite meal and dessert?
Lemon-flavored anything in both categories.

Do you have any hobbies?
I swim at night with Girlfriend, the beaches are empty and magical.

What is your favorite vacation spot?
It was Nantucket, but that’s where I accidentally shot my husband so I’m looking for a new spot.

What is your idea of a really fun time?
I’m a very private person so just hanging out with Neil and Henry watching the Red Sox or old movies is perfect.

If you were to write a memoir, what would you call it?
Left Behind

Amateur or professional sleuth and whom do you work with?
Definitely amateur but getting really good at it with the help of Henry and Neil and now my grandmother, Grace.

What is a typical day in your life like in general and when you are on a case?
I quietly try to figure out what the police have missed without provoking them. They don’t like me because of my history on Nantucket so they are inclined to suspect me of just about anything bad that happens on St. John. I have to keep a low profile while I attempt to outsmart them and essentially do their job.
