Sometimes the best way to know a person is by asking questions, where you can learn more about what makes them tick. Let’s see what Sarah has to say.

What is your name?
– – Sarah Booth Delaney

How old are you?
– – I’m 34–and holding for as long as it takes!

What is your profession?
– – I’m a failed Broadway actress and a damn good private investigator

Do you have a significant other?
– – I have my sights set on a man from my past.

What is his name?
– – Coleman Peters

What is his profession?
– – He’s sheriff of Sunflower County

Any children?
– – None, and not certain I want any, though Jitty, the ghost that haunts my ancestral home, is pushing me to get pregnant before my eggs go bad or my female plumbing rusts to a halt

Do you have any sibling(s)?
– – No

Cats, dogs or other pets?
– – I have three horses, one fabulous hound dog, and one bedeviled black cat

What town do you live in?
– – I live on a farm in Sunflower County, Mississippi near the town of Zinnia

Do you rent or own?
– – I inherited Dahlia House, which has been in my family for generations. This is my home and I love it, but I struggle to make the necessary repairs and take care of the place.

House or building complex?
– – It’s a two-story plantation style house

What is your favorite spot in your house?
– – there are two: the kitchen, where friends gather, feast, and gab, and the offices of Delaney Detective Agency, where my partner, Tinkie Bellcase Richmond, and I put our heads together when we have a case.

Who is your best friend?
– – Tinkie, and Cece Dee Falcon, a journalist, and Millie, cafe owner.

Amateur sleuth or professional?
– – Technically, we’re amateur, but we started our agency because we had a lot of work.

Whom do you work with when sleuthing?
– – I’m lucky that the local sheriff cuts me a lot of slack and opens doors for me in the law enforcement community. My partner, Tinkie, is smarter than I am, though she works hard to hide it. And sometimes Madame Tomeeka, the local psychic, shares her dreams and premonitions. They’re mostly indecipherable until the truth smacks me upside the head.

Favorite meal?
– – Millie’s fried chicken, fried okra (fresh, not frozen) turnips, cole slaw, and cornbread

Favorite dessert?
– – Anything dark chocolate with nuts (no gooey stuff).

Favorite hobby?
– – Riding my horses.

Favorite vacation spot?
– – Dauphin Island, Alabama in the winter

Favorite color?
– – Red.

Favorite author?
– – Carolyn Hart, who knows a thing about being haunted!

Favorite sports team?
– – None. People should play sports, not watch them.

Movies or Broadway?
– – Oh, Broadway. More than anything when I was younger I wanted to star in a musical on Broadway. It just never happened.

Are you a morning or a night person?
– – Early bird by preference and night owl when I have to be.

In a few sentences, what is a typical day in your life like?
– – Since I live on a farm, the first thing is care of my horses and pets. If the weather is fine and I have time, a ride around the open cotton fields is in order. Sweetie Pie, my hound, loves that too. Pluto the cat–not so much. Pluto disdains riding the horses. Then I’ll join up with Tinkie and maybe Cece and discuss the latest case at Millie’s Cafe where I’ll partake of some scrumptious breakfast. Then we’re off to solve our case. Stopping by the courthouse to talk with Coleman is often part of the morning, or else I’ll see him in the evenings. It’s a busy life, but a life rich in friends and some very interesting mysteries to solve.

You can read about Sarah in Charmed Bones, the 18th book in the “Sarah Booth Delaney” mystery series, coming May 15, 2018. The first book in the series is Them Bones.

Zinnia, Mississippi is rife with quirky characters, but the arrival of three sister witches―and their intention to open a Wiccan boarding school―sets the small town on its ear. And bodies begin to accumulate as a result. Faith, Hope, and Charity Harrington are sexy and smart. They’re setting up their boarding school in an old dairy―a piece of property with tremendous development potential. And they’re standing in the way of “progress,” according to some in the town.

When young Corey Fontana goes missing, Delaney Detective Agency is hired to find the youth―who’s well known as a local hooligan. His mother, Kitten Fontana, who is married to the kind of land development, believes the witches have abducted her son and makes no bones about it. She’s willing to pay hard cash to find her son, especially if she can implicate the witches in his disappearance.

When Sarah Booth Delaney and her partner, Tinkie Richmond, find Corey, unharmed, it is only the beginning of a series of events that include midnight dances under a full moon, love potions, and murder. Are the sister witches criminals. . . or victims? Do they truly have magical powers, as they claim? Sarah Booth and Tinkie must find the answer before more people are harmed.
