The university town of Fort Connor is experiencing its annual influx of students, some of whom head into the shop for knitting classes. Kelly Flynn is happy to teach them the stitches of the trade—even Holly, the young woman who had appeared in Kelly’s backyard a month earlier, dazed and confused.
Though Holly has a bit of a checkered past, she’s known by many of the knitting students—and one of the teachers. And with the help of the crew at the House of Lambspun, she’s in the process of turning over a new leaf. So when she’s found dead on the river trail near Kelly’s house, Kelly feels compelled to investigate. Rounding up her knitting pals for help, she finds herself following a path of clues that twists more easily than the yarn with which she knits.
Worried that someone with harmful intent could be closer than she thinks, Kelly must work fast to unravel the skein of this crime.
This was a good read. I like the characters and the tone of the story and I especially like the mystery which I had the killer in my head despite the many twist and turns the author put out there. I also like that list of characters in the book for easy reference for this first-time reader of the series. I plan to read the other seven books while I eagerly wait for the 9th book. My rating: 4 stars
