Hi Everyone! I’m Stella O’Neil and I can’t believe you’d be interested in an interview from a nerd like me. I recently move to the hometown my dad grew up in because I wanted to get to know my grandfather, Oscar. Oscar is an ex FBI agent and tries to hide behind his grumpy nature. He scared me a bit when I first met him, but now I adore him to pieces. I started working with my uncle who owns Flamingo Realty, and each of our signs sports a huge pink flamingo. You’d think they’d get stolen more, but apparently it’s a toss-up between cute and bananas.

I love my job, I really do, especially since my best friend, Kari, works there also. We didn’t start out as friends, but that’s a story for another day. My favorite thing about moving back here is facilitating a reunion between my dad and Oscar. It was a long time coming, and those men were stubborn. But guess who’s a bit more headstrong. This girl right here.

I don’t have any pets as of yet, unless you count the little bird I rescued who flew into my window. He made a full recovery and hangs out at my feeder every morning. I do have to figure out what to do about the squirrels though. In my spare time I’m fixing up this amazing old house that my landlord live in her entire life, only moving out when she married. One amazing thing I found was a poem she’d written on the wall when she was a little girl. Rather than paint over it, I found a picture framed and tacked it around it.

My favorite meal is spaghetti. I can’t help it. It’s so cozy, and with meatballs and a sprinkle of cheese, hits all the right spots. I love it. Even better, it’s not hard to make. Spaghetti is a friend that never betrays you.

I haven’t traveled a lot, but some places I’d like to go are Italy and Ireland. They seem so romantic and lovely, filled with old world charm and greenery. If you’ve been, I’d love to hear about it! Where do you recommend I go?

Significant other. . . that’s a tricky topic. Kari always tries to set me up with “someone she knows I’ll love.” I’ve yet to love any of them. I’ve run the gamut with blind dates with her, from constant dad jokes, to the worst pick-up lines in history. Or men who never put their phone down long enough to even order food. Sometimes I wonder if she even knows me.

My favorite color is easy. It’s the color of the grass when the sun is shining through it on a clear summer day. Green is amazing when it’s alive. My favorite spot in the house is on the porch swing where I can read and sway and lift my face to the sun. I love my life.

I live in Brookfield, a small town just bursting with charm. One of my favorite places to go is the local diner owned and operated by Mrs. Marla for the last fifty years. They know me by sight, and I don’t know if I should be embarrassed or flattered that they know my order by memory. One bacon cheeseburger please with a pile of French fries. Mmmmmm

I would never say I’m a sleuth, but I will say that I’m my grandfather’s blood, and that FBI gene seems to run deep. I always have questions and like to figure things out. Not that I run head-on into trouble. I’m too smart to get mixed up in danger.

But sometimes danger has a way of finding me.

Thanks for letting me share! Don’t forget to give me some travel ideas. Have a great day!
